Don't really want to finish it, because I can't imagimane any ending wich would be satisfing.
It wasn't perfect but it was an okay read at first. It isn't happy and yes the the MC are dameged but only this don't make the manhwa bad. But reaching 50ish chapter the manhwa is at a point that no matter wich direction it goes it's just won't end as a happy endig for noone. It's like watching a car crash when you see that the car will crash and is nothing anyone can do.

I love the story. It's is interesting and refreshing. The main female character isn't naive, but strong, skilled and wise, which I liked and wasn't an often occurrence in other Manhwa and manga. With each chapter I was interested what will happen next.

boring and bland

- dropped after chapter 10-ish and i skimmed around
- og i wasn’t going to give a shit what other ppl were rating this but tbh they were right lmfao it’s like very… meh. fl is yes way too op and there’s no explanation for her actions. her whining bothered me too like it just felt like trauma porn at some point.
- i really just don’t care for the characters like i’m saur. usually i’m into kinda obsessive mls who are like massively in love w fl but like idk i just can’t be bothered with dylan.
- i didn’t have the willpower to read more so take my opinion w grain of salt but like gd it was boring as shit lmfao like it’s just every other oi regression story. way too many plot bluffs. it’s such a weirdly long set up too like i think it takes 40+ chapters to get to the main time setting which is annoying and i’m not reading that much idgaf!

How is this josei??? Too childish and silly

Is boring, the characters are flat and unrealistic
The whole being transformed into a sword is kind of fantastic, then the fairies that happen by randomly are cute and never really get expanded on and it d r a g s . . .
There's too many random things that aren't tired together, like she cultivates mana but magic doesn't really manifest in any other part of the setting that is otherwise non magical and a basic story of royal family. She's a knight somehow, no explanation of how she would have been trained for that or how she would be able to beat men. Magic?

Kind of a disorganized mess

I stopped reading around chapter 25ish. Somehow she knows her genius prince really well, but doesn't understand his crush on her, even though she literally tells him to obsess over her. So dumb

I stuck around mainly for the art, it is pretty and I love the hair accessories and outfits. Action scenes are ok to meh

Mary Sue grooms child and does various other things for 50 chapters that could have been a prologue.

I hate it when there's a premise in the title that doesn't happen for 2 seasons. And there is nothing in this that holds my attention. Evil family evil for the sake of evil gives us a pity porn fantasy only to give us the "And then they regretted how they treated the FL when they saw how powerful she is" cringe that could be coming straight out of a teenager's wattpad.
FL and ML are both supposes to be these cold OP people but they're just incredibly dull to me.
Don't know why I even read this far. Guess I was expecting for it to become better but 50 chapters is my limit.

Unexpectedly good for a josei manhwa

I really like the plot and how the writer wrote characters. The male lead isn't your run-of-the-mill sweet, caring, kuudere male lead but rather

sick and twisted, observant and makes a real good final boss.

I also like how the female lead isn't your usual forgiving, revenge-obsessed mc, but she
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
later on realises how she literally ruined a man's life for her own gain. She knows she wants revenge, and she's fully aware of everything she does. Calculating, cunning, and almost goddess-like due to aeons of living as a sword.

Despite its main target audience being women, even men can enjoy this as a historical seinen.

Inconsistent Plot and Premise

She's a gifted swordsman, fairy, genius, and beautiful AF. And despite the author making her an OP Mary Sue, she wasn't talented enough, magical enough, smart enough, charming enough to get out of the situation she was in her first life😕😕 Seems like she is only talented and a genius when its convenient for the plot

Not gonna rate this yet bc the available scanlated chapters (40 chapters worth) are really just setting up what the series' summary is promising.

But so far, this seems like it's a really good villain-destruction story. There is some deus ex machina here and there (like the fairies and that a lot of things MC can't possibly influence--that we know of--change in ways to always benefit her), but the crux of the story/plot is well thought out and the the MC's and ML's character and relationship development plays well (including their descent into villainy).

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I think the story does a good job in portraying how the MC and ML were unfavorites:

MC's father can't handle MC's mom's death via childbirth and his rotten attitude directly influenced his sons'.

ML is the 13th prince of a physically and positionally weak consort and has a psycho, power-hungry father, along with pretty ambitious children fighting for the throne (considering all of the crimes and assassination attempts going on). So, he has no status or familial love that can protect him growing up, especially after his mom dies.

And their strengths are (mostly) understandable:

MC is a gifted swordswoman, which is what got her turned into the kingdom's emperors' sword in the first place. So, 400yrs of experience and thirst for vengeance, while being raised by the kingdom's emperors' side throughout the centuries, are enough for me to see why she's so OP when she returns, especially as she retains the powers from those 400yrs of conquest and fighting. And it explains why her morality remains twisted.

ML is just a born OP though, but the story mostly focuses on MC and her revenge, so he's mostly been treated as a tool for her (both in-story and for her character for us readers). But as we start to see when he deviates from MC's careful nurturing, he seems to be developing as his own character more (at least, his side of the story gets more interesting).

But there are some points I have problems with:

The thing about the MC being part fae is not explained well though and seems more like a throw-away plot piece, only used for giving her a disguise and a means to escape later. I say throw-away, bc I have no doubt that she ultimately wouldn't need this to do either things it was used for thus far. That's why I'm hoping the fairy thing gets a better story later; otherwise, there was really no need for it.

Also, it was weird with how the things she can't possible influence end up going her way anyways. Like how the ML's mother's dying message changed exactly to allow MC the chance to make the ML a tyrant or how her former fiance also received his past memories but it's also treated as another throw-away plot piece--he doesn't really do anything but give support in their rebellion, but he actually wasn't needed for his part either. Or that the king so happen to have the only herb in the world to help ML's mother or that MC was able to find a hidden family heirloom in a mountain range within 15dys.

But main point is that this seems to be building up to be a proper villain story, where we ultimately aren't supposed to be rooting for the MC at the end, or at least, she doesn't get that fairytale, or even normal, HE. And I hope that this is where the story goes.

Somewhat good

I have mixed feelings about this one.
One one hand, I like how the author doesn't just repeat the cliché of an innocent woman becoming a villainess and adapting, he instead portrays an innocent girl that's broken and actually becomes the villainess of her own accord.
On the other hand, the hole became a sword plot and the having killed her own mother setting are quite dumb and poorly thought. Let's ignore all the flaws of how it's presented and take at face value that she became a sword with her own will, she follows the 1st emperor's orders out of fear of him killing her family, what about the rest? she served for 400 years, why does she still comply? As for the killing the mother part... this is the late middle-ages or renaissance, death of the mother while giving birth is a very common occurrence, are all kids born in such a way monsters? I'm more inclined to believe it would be a normal thing. Even if her father resents her, that the whole country ostracizes her for it is kind of ridiculous.
Other positive is that the manhwa is not afraid of taking it's time to develop and doesn't rush things as often happens with adaptation. It's a slow pace but deliberate and save for the first two chapters, it results in a cohesive story.
So far it's mildly good, it's one of those stories which might be great or terribly boring.
