Description

Nian Bing is the son of a fire mage and an ice mage.

After both of his parents were killed by the Ice Lord, Nian Bing received both of his parents' magic gems.

When Nian Bing was trying to escape from the Ice Lord's followers, he managed to cast both fire and ice magic at the same time.

An impossible feat for a mage.

He fell from the cliff, unconscious, and was saved by an oldman.

After he woke up, the oldman gave him a food so delicious he never tasted before.

It turned out that the oldman was a genius chef, once called a spirit chef. And he wants Nian Bing to be his disciple no matter what!

It's good ... at times ...

The story is quite interesting it starts as revenge in a magic fantasy world but after meeting a chef en cools down a bit and decides that to be his job/cover .

The cooking part is quite enjoyable but it's a bit ruined a bit when they randomly decide do speak gibberish and do bulls**t unreal techniques .

Good blend of cooking and shounen

Not sure why there are 2 other reviews giving a score of 3....

For those who like Shokugeki no Soma, the cooking parts are quite similar, the people eating the food sometimes will have some 'cosplay'. One downside is how technical it is and there are a lot of legendary and forbidden techniques, which is kinda confusing.

The shounen areas are quite normal, covering martial arts and magic, but there is spirit power (mental capabilities) being touched on as well.

Generally well done, but this series seems to cover way too much stuff, like politics, power struggles, revenge, shounen power ups, cooking and even several romance broken plots/harem.

Good to have a read though.

Very Bad

There are many bad points to this one, in the first place, the MC is boring, he's perfect, has too much talent and his actions make no sense at all at times. Unfortunately for it the secondary characters get little attention and they'll probably be ditched soon when he resumes his travels.
As for the story, it is messy, it jumps all over and the author doesn't seem to know what he wants to do with it, at times cultivation, at times magic and martial arts, at times cooking contests, all feel very shallow and unpolished, in particular the cooking is pretty much as parlor trick in this manhua, a load of flashy crap with little sense so that everyone goes ohh!! and make the MC look awesome, as if being an unprecedented genius in magic wasn't enough.
A very lousy manhua, it reminds me Douluo Dalu from the same author but this one only got the bad parts from it.

Good story, terrible translations

Story is good, but Readmanga's translation is awful (it's pretty much garbage sometimes to be honest...) They often get the meaning of phrases completely wrong/overly simplify until it loses the original intended meaning by the author.
