The pacing is wacked. I'm on ch 6 and i feel like I should be in ch 25. I think the author is trying to rush the initial setup, but it's not done in a good way. I have 0 investment in the characters, I don't like the bottom (he just seems whiney and kind of spineless? He's not fleshed out and feels one dimensional. I have zero investment in his happiness.) and the top is only sort of interesting. But he flips like a switch and I can't get a read on him. One second he's all over the bottom, next he gets back at him by suggesting they break up. Does he have bipolar or am I missing something? He doesn't even apologize for saying that to hurt the bottom. If this is the author's attempt of "they're just kids making stupid mistakes" then...i don't think it's executed well. It just feels like they're actually stupid that why they're making stupid mistakes.
We just zoomed from friends to lovers without much narration so we are just seeing flashes of what's happening without any deep dive into character motivations and their feelings.
I would've dropped this if I didn't buy the whole first season. I got lured in by the pretty art... but even though the art looks nice, it feels flat. Character movements look a bit awkward and paneling is both boring and also feels a bit...undramatic. Time to strap in I suppose. 😐

You know how you can just stand there and watch a train crash, then another car crashes into the chaos, then another, and another and all you can do is stare at the pile up and go "wow. Yikes."
They introduce characters, then plucks the main character up and away from this side couple's story before it got resolved and tosses him into a whole different place within the span of I dunno, was that 3 chapters? I don't have any time to get invested in ANYONE and they're all kinda assholes? I don't like the main character, I don't like the top too much, I don't like the brother, and I don't like the playboy red hair. I have no idea WHY they even introduced the side couple since they didn't actually contribute anything to the story (they could've skipped the side couple and flash forward a few months and nothing would've changed)

Okay I finished the first season. The only reason I was that invested was to see what else they're going to add to this very quickly growing pileup of a crash. It kinda just kept spiralling...and it was admittedly kind of entertaining to see how ridiculous things kept getting. (Not really in a good way)
Not taking this story too seriously was how I managed to somewhat enjoy the rest of the season. The story itself tackles important issues, but I just think the execution left a lot to be deserved.
Also I somehow hate the top more than the bottom now lol
