Description

A lifetime as a fencing prodigy prepared Eunha for her new role as Selena Evan, novel side character and daughter of a renowned swordsman. Repetitive and boring

Dropped at chapter 127 because:

Relies on the same repetitive plot device throughout the first 3 seasons of her hiding hiding her cis female sex from the prince. She always has the same thoughts and motivations and it relies on the same misunderstandings and lies throughout the whole story apparently.

What I did like:

MC is a strong female character

What I didn't like:

You never get to experience the MC being strong as her female persona because she's perpetually hiding as a man. (Just to be clear, she doesn't identify as a man, she's just pretending to be one for the plot, so it becomes quite tiresome and repetitive in both her thoughts and her actions as she evades discovery.)
The MC isn't very smart or likeable. She supposedly had basic knowledge of the plot before she started changing things, but she's barely used that knowledge to help out at all. She is really mean to her brother and has an anger management issue with him just because he left her to join the army, even though she didn't want him to join in the first place because the original story route where he did ended in ruin for her whole family.
There are huge plot and character holes all over the place, and it's incredibly slow and boring.

If u've ever seen that meme that's like "straight woman yaoi vs gay man yaoi vs lesbian yaoi" know rhat this is is literally that meme. This is yaoi but straight

as for my actual review: Actually ML and FL are pretty nuanced lol. character development is crazy and the author actively acknowledges the presence of flaws, making everyone very 3d and cool (thumbs up). Also really good queer rep (Love wins for side characters)

however some of the events in the story are a Little bit questionable!!! Gaping wide plot holes geez

all in all: verygood characters questioning plot points and Man gabe really itches

translation was absolutely impossible to sit through.
very generic plot but the fls brother is really funny lmao. otherwise like idk i can’t stand cold mls and i was searching for a yandere who already loved fl from the beginning kinda story

Incompetent MC and Unrealistic Interactions

Despite the fact that the MC (Main Character) has knowledge of the future and immense strength her lack of ability to plan ahead results in her being completely incompetent and subservient to others. I gave the story 20 chapters to see if the MC would get any smarter or if the other characters would become more realistic but it never happened. Two men who are supposed to be straight keep blushing and being overprotective of the MC who is disguised as a man. At least in the first 20 chapters it doesn't appear that the two men realized that she was a woman in disguise so their behavior seems completely out of place unless they are supposed to be gay. This combined with the fact that the MC never stands up for herself makes the story a chore to read and I wouldn't recommend it.

Uneven quality.

This seemed like a decent story with some amusing moments, but then a scene later on was suddenly so remarkably bad that it made me doubt the author's ability to bring it to a decent conclusion.

In chapter 41, the protagonist P is about to duel the antagonist A. To paraphrase:
A: Before our duel, please drink from this water bottle. It's not poisoned or anything.
P: drinks
During the duel, P discovers that she's been poisoned. surprisedpikachuface

And then, three chapters later, after P has survived the duel despite the poison, and is currently being nursed in bed:
P: "I learned a lesson from that... to never eat anything before a duel." (actual dialogue)

Since it's inconceivable to me that a good story writing process could produce these scenes, I'm pessimistic for the future of this story.

Mulan meets dominating yandere and submissive yandere. Picks one and lives happily ever after. That's the outline of what this story is and I expect... will be.

I rate this 8.5 because while predictable, the execution is decent and entertaining.

Tbh this is your usual, I read the novel oh Damn I am “that” character that gets a “bad ending”. Although it does have its selling points making it a lot better than the usual road we take.
