The purpose of the title suggested by @ImaginaryWishes is interesting. However, if this title refers to an English-language idiom or story, it more likely refers to the following:
Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: One bite at a time.
So hugging elephant is best done one bit at a time, taking one step at a time. Hmm... If the author meant to refer to both of these idioms, that would be extra interesting. 🙂
Well, I'm surprised there aren't any reviews yet. I quite like it so far. I clicked on this because I was bored and I liked the title, but it actually seems pretty interesting. I like the protagonist, Han Ho-Su. It's true that he's a little selfish, but he's relatable in that he's not the usual hot-headed, idealistic do-gooder type. He kind of reminds me of Yoo-Jung in Cheese in the Trap and his perfect facade and there seems to be some kind of personal trauma behind his reasoning. That Dorian "durian" kid seems interesting too. Heh. I'm curious to see how everything will play out.
Anyway, about the title. A commenter on Batoto suggested that it refers to the idiom of the "elephant in the room", in which case "hugging" the elephant means embracing the obvious truth that is being ignored.
