Firstly, before I can even discuss the manga itself, I have to warn you that the translation is not good at all. Sure, it reads as idiomatic English, but I'm reading the original Japanese alongside it, and nearly every panel has something off, plain wrong, or even made up. So despite any recommendations I might have made for the content, actually reading it is another story since the translation is misleading. You wouldn't be reading the mangaka's original words, but whatever the scanlators decided to ad lib.

This manga caught my attention when its artwork was used in the music video for Amazarashi's song Getsuyoubi. The art style of the manga is intriguing, with a simple style, but also unique with random flourish like metallic eyes, sparks of light, and unique lighting and shapes. The manga deals with growing up, with the two main characters finding themselves lagging behind their peers. They're quirky (one believes in aliens and the other is a chūnibyō), as expected of middle schoolers, but also likable and relatable. It's a nice slice-of-life about the two meeting at the school grounds at night and bonding over their shared out-of-placeness.

Unfortunately, despite its qualities, I can't recommend the series in its current translation. It's almost unheard of for a series to get retranslated, so maybe just look at the art or something...
