Description
Ordinary high school student Satoru Ikaruga, while he doesn't look like it, happens to be a genius vehicle user, kinda like a MacGyver of vehicles. And he's extremely good with all vehicles like jet skis, trucks, fighter planes and helicopters. If you can name the vehicle, he knows how to work it. Ikaruga works as a vehicle expert for a multinational specialist organization called the Almighty Support Enterprises (ASE) while trying to maintain his high school life as much as possible.

D-Live is one of shonen manga that I re-read more than 3 times. I rent this series in a manga cafe near my place, and never got bored reading it.
The action is actually really good. While some shonen manga started good and ended poorly, this manga was well-written from tge beginning to the end. The ending wasn't rushed, but just properly ended. And each case shown us different motor-based vehicles, in various places. It's really amazing how "A Story about 'a driver'" could become an action story like this one.

It's an interesting series with a protagonist who doesn't have some any overarching goal...other than eating gyuudon, anyways. Frankly I've gotten sick of manga that try to force the plot too much, too quickly. I'm sure that a plot will come about eventually, but even when it does I doubt that Satoru will be running headfirst into stupidity, guns blazing.
So give it a try--you might be disappointed, but I seriously doubt it.

well, I really have to say: I'm no fan of vehicles. I like fantasy, romance, supernatural and such stuff, but not cars or something like that.
But nevertheless, I began reading d-live and I actually like it!
The characters are very good to great and even though the art isn't that beautiful (don't mind the covers, the art is much better than that) the story is full of potential and originality.
I recomment it to nearly everybody (not to ecchi-fans though).
So just start reading it and make up your own mind about this series.
For now, just 9 points because it's nowhere near its end (there can still happen a lot) and because I'm no real fan of the art.
