Description
Renoc was supposed to be a video game character, so giving him a dying body in exchange for extreme magical prowess felt reasonable. However, when his creator wakes up inside Renoc's body, it doesn't feel like a game anymore! His life in the game is unbearable until he discovers the mysterious drug Vyper, which gives him the strength to wield his magic to its full potential. As Renoc walks a fine line with the drug that could save or destroy him, can he find a way to survive in this new world?

Love a dark futuristic sci-fi series

I love this webtoon. MrZerooo's review was well written, and I also have no clue what skynet5c read, because it's doesn't match with what actually happened.

I wish it was made clearer that he uses different faces depending on the environment. He has a daily living face and a separate one for his contract jobs, and others as necessary. This is important to remember when he's avoiding being identified by the government. More differences between the faces or simply showing him changing face when he does so would be helpful to the reader.

Not so much a fan of the comic relief character, whom I call Dumbpool for obvious reasons.

Such an interesting setting and characters. Plus it is VERY SURPRISING and rare for Korean works to have a protagonist do any drugs, let alone a protagonist working through a forced addiction to a dangerous drug. That's pretty ballsy by the author, considering that imbibing cannabis seems to be treated as a very serious criminal offense in Korea.

How nice is the Freedom to give reviews completely differently than others.

Sorry but the last review was bad, looks that we are reading both two completely different comics, and you forgot the spoilers tag too, how sad...
I will use the correct tag and way because of the spoilers, and later a little resume without spoilers for who want to skip it.
Let's start breaking every reason of the last user wrote for his low score with facts in the same webcomic(obvious contains spoilers):
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
-About the Protagonist face, he uses magic to change his appereance, so who needs a Mask? The Government's agent did not recognize his face later, but suspect him because of his mana pattern(he says that forgot to changed in the scene) and he probably the same height of his Mercenary disguise, probable even the same hair collor, who knows, the Government's Agents are a pain in most of Fiction stories.
You can call him retarded? Yes, but in both Damn Reincarnation and Player Who Returned 10,000 Years Later, they are worse, sorry but I read those too and can tell it.
-About the Factory Prologue, let's use what the comic shared with us:
First one, a shady business, the Factory had workers in a comparable slave's treatment, easy too see it.
Second, the Factory looks localizated in a isolated place, because after the Escape Scene we can see the Protagonist riding the car and the scenary out of the Factory.
So a random guy can get away in this specific cenario? Yes.
How does this society works? In this chapter looks that they really don't cared, let's go for the next one.
-Now about the laws.
The Protagonist is a "menace"(yes, spiderman reference here)!
Menace for who? Shooting people in the head and doing his missions using his power without a care?
We learn in this comics that this World(or maybe City or State whatever) is divided in Districts, the protagonist starts in the worst and last one.
We got powerfull Mage breaking everything in a place without laws and while disguised, do I need to say where is the police or Gorvenament here? Probably they don't care or are waiting a better motive to take action, sadly like real world.
-The bar.
Why you talked about the beautiful Bartender lady like that?
She is veteran employer in that district, she even explain some of how works the reality for the protagonist, is because of her goodwill?
Of course not, the protagonist is a Mage, a rare type of mercenary, she just started helping him because of business. Even the contract is more about underground rules that a legal one, because of the reputation in that type of business.
-The Missions.
The protagonist and others Mercenaries relationship.
It is bad, the only one who don't looks to hate or looked hostile for the protagonist was the Dude who looks similar the Deadpool.
Every other one started bad and with the protagonist choosing his way to deal it, choosing to use the old law of the Strongest.
This is how the author imagines a professional mercenary group behaves, when every mercenary excepted you, wants to screw you.
-Your strange taste.
Nothing cool or exciting or interesting in the story?
We got a Powerfull Mage with a Gun, fighting for his life in a World of Science and Magic, using two different ways and identidies for save himself. Plus the Art is really nice.
Maybe the problem is just you, you know, you can have a specific taste and is okay. Just don't create a fuss next time, because you opinion looks more pure hate that a review with reasons.

In resume, if you want to see a Genius Mage dealing with his own survival in a World of Magic and Science, plus good art and action scenes. Give a chance for this one.
48 Chapters and the only thing that made me sad was the Season End without date to return. This is what really hurts.

Very mediocre and lame, badly thought out

I went into this expecting something on the same level as <Damn Reincarnation> and <Player Who Returned 10,000 Years Later> and was sorely disappointed.

The entire story is just lame and badly thought out. Where do I begin?

- Just before starting a mission to blow up a factory, the MC's partner (who was wearing a mask that looks like deadpool) says: "wait, are you going to work with your face exposed? Their security might be bad, but there's still no need for your identity to be exposed, right?" and gives the MC a mask to wear. The MC refuses to wear the mask with the only justification being: "it doesn't matter. No need". And later on in the mission a government agent shows up and recognizes the MC's face, but the MC somehow manages to convince her that he's a different person because his mana pattern is different. There is no way a real adult human can be this retarded. It's just not believable. Honestly, this entire episode was just so fucking stupid.
- MC woke up as a regular factory worker in a completely new and different world that he's not familiar with at all, and then proceeds to get up and just start walking around shooting people in the factory while lots of people were working (including his boss), and then just coolly steals a car, drives away, without so much as even an attempt at disguise, and nobody chases after him, no police, nothing. He just gets away with daylight murder scot-free. How was he not caught? Were there no CCTV cameras anywhere? He even wasn't wearing a disguise, not that it mattered since he was a regular employee at the factory and they should have noticed if he went missing. So any random guy can just get away with murder in broad daylight? How does this society even function?
- MC walks around the streets shooting people in the head, electrocuting people in public then taking their money, blowing up buildings, and never gets into any trouble for doing those things despite him not making any effort to disguise himself or hide or run away. Nobody comes after him - no police, nothing. It's as if law enforcement doesn't exist in this world. But the rest of the world looks like a modern city, with hotels and markets, bank accounts, bonds, stocks, orderly streets etc. It doesn't make any sense.
- The shady bartender woman, who makes numerous dealings with criminals, gives the MC jobs such as blowing up a rival company's factory for money, offers to make the MC a new identity for money, as soon as she learned that MC is a mage, offered him a written (printed) contract. Given that she hides her shady (probably very illegal) business behind a bar, what is the point of having a written contract? If MC breaks the contract it's not like she's going to call the (non-existent) police and give the contract to her lawyer or anything.
- MC is hired by a mercenary group for an assault on a heavily defended building. MC shows up right before the start for a life-and-death mission. He was hired as the fire support mage, so, a pretty fucking important job. I was expecting a detailed briefing plus some rehearsals. Instead, no. He shows up for the first time just as the mission is about to start, none of the people he's going to be working with on this life-and-death mission have even met or talked to him before. Instead, the MC is simply given a short "final briefing" (since the other members had already been briefed) with no rehearsals or anything. There was no reason for them to do this. They could have met up days before the assault and gone through detailed preparations and rehearsals, but instead they decided "fuck it, we'll do it live". This is how the author imagines a professional mercenary group behaves.

Also there is just nothing cool or exciting or interesting in the story at all. There are no exciting people, items, spells, events, nothing. After 23 chapters there is no anticipation that anything cool or awesome might happen in the future. So far it's just random jobs (e.g. kill this random guy who stole this random uninteresting thing, or blow up this random factory that manufactures this uninteresting drug). I honestly cannot bring myself to continue reading this.

The art was good though. That's the only reason I'm giving this a 4/10.
