For seasoned readers of manhwa and webtoons, this series offers nothing new in terms of the standard plot progression that we've come to expect:
- Apocalypse happens and people awaken abilities.
- Our otherwise average protagonist awakens a cheat ability that allows him to get very powerful very quickly.
- Our protagonist gets powerful enough to defeat almost everyone in the universe.
- The mystery behind the universe gets revealed and the final boss battle ensues.
- Story ends.
Of course, I cannot say conclusively that this series will follow the same plot progression (currently at chapter 39) but so far, it has not deviated from my expectation so we'll just have to keep reading.
Even though the plot progression offers little in terms of surprise, the series still manages to stay very entertaining. It stays very humorous without crossing the line into sheer comedy yet maintains a sense of light seriousness to keep you engaged. All in all, if I have one word to describe the series so far, it would be standard. Standard, not in the sense of average but in the sense of staying well within expectations. Yet standard does not imply boring, as this series is showing. From artwork to storytelling to the action scenes, we can conclude that much of it is just within what we have come to expect of manhwa nowadays.
I expect that this series might draw a lot of comparison to solo leveling. In a way, it feels like a reaction to solo leveling. The two stories follow the same 'style' yet are opposite in the spirit of the values espoused; while solo leveling is more individualistic, this series has a sense of teamwork and togetherness.
So for readers who loved solo leveling, this will be a good recommendation as a different, yet more entertaining (in my opinion) take to the same story.
For casual readers looking for something that is not very serious yet engaging, this series is good recommendation.
