I absolutely love this series. I... have seldom dive into world of shoujo, but as with also Skip Beat and Basara/ 7 Seeds, I found a gem in this one. So basically Charlotte was reincarnated, but as a grand mage in his previous life, she was born with little magic in her new body. Thinking that it may have to do with her unfulfilled yearning of love, she set out doing just that... only that her 5 disciples continue to be her concern even after her supposed passing.

As with this kind of reincarnation story, there's stereotype early that you can find. But Charlotte never really dwells in that idea for too long, as even without her magic power, her knowledge and experience soon distinguished her and her disciples all eventually recognize her. At the end of the day, she once again was pulled into the battle against evil force, only this time with her disciples in her side.

I think it is well paced and well thought of a story, that flow seamlessly, both from Charlotte's perspective as a tutor and previously grand mage; and also from her disciples who were left with various problems following her passing. I think it is specially good at telling us their stories, in a way that isn't like narative. By utilizing both flashbacks and present dynamics, the story were brought forth slowly but steadily. Idk what happened with the author's previous work that got stalled, I just hope this one get proper conclusion!

I agree with most of the comments on this, the plot is decent and enjoyable. But the characters are so disproportionate. And the absurdly high hair...having a hard time getting used to it. Art 2/10.

Black Haze who!?

Half way through “Charlotte and Her 5 Disciples” a chord struck. “Hmm, this looks and feels a lot like “Black Haze”…”. Yep, it’s the same author/artist… I’d read Black Haze multiple times and was sad to see it go on haitus, but I think “Charlotte…” has more potential as a story. Many of the beats and jokes are similar, even the looming demonic threat has carried through. But Charlotte has plot conceits that are not shackled to the alpha of all clichés – schools! Funnily enough, demonic uprisings are more natural in a story involving a whole continent rather than the play ground where Timothy shoots his hoops before Math class.

While the potential is greater than Black Haze, the current entertainment value is similar. You could accuse “Charlotte…” of being a complete copy-pasta of the themes of “Black Haze” if it wasn’t for the fact they were tropes of this genre in the first place. But there is enough distinct personality of the author that it distinguishes itself. Frankly that’s all there really is to say about “Charlotte…” at the moment. I don’t expect there to be any narrative stakes, but give me some fun characters and scenarios and I’ll be along for the ride.

Ohh this really amazing manhwa and i hope

Interesting premise, and while the chapters are kind of short there are a lot of intriguing characters and funny dynamics.

Edit: After finishing this manhua, I'd still stick by what I said above. Only downside to this one is how things can drag sometimes. So many interruptions from so many different characters lol.
