Good art, but it didn't keep my attention after 80 chapters. While I initially appreciated that the ML wasn't another overtly aggressive, mean to everyone but the FL kind of character, everything else about it has been done to death.

Solid story, great art

I decided to binge the story after it had ended because I kept reading that it had good reviews. I hadn’t read it because frankly, the cover art was beautiful but the premise of the story without context seemed a little ridiculous…(the mask worn by the ML and all the previous men of the family)

I found myself in a lull and was looking for a story that had already been completed that I could binge. I looked over my TBR and rediscovered this gem. I went into the story with nothing to lose figuring it wouldn’t be a big deal if I dropped it after a few episodes.

I found myself not being able to put it down. The story was written in such a way the main character wearing that ridiculous mask made sense and the artwork was consistent. The ending seemed a little rushed, I wish I could’ve seen a little bit more or that there has been some side stories. There were some items that I felt they could’ve been deeper like the rift between the two dimensions, who the great sage was (although it’s hinted it is a descendent of the FL), the FL childhood, etc

This is a great read for anyone looking for an unexpectedly good story with solid art throughout.

Strong storyline

In many ways this reminds of the good action oriented shoujos of old. Even the art brings back the memories. But unlike those shoujos this one has a very tight storyline.

The plot has well developed story beats, the art is good. There is a lot of action and scheming in this story, the world building is okay, and the romance is solid. The only weakness is that things might have happened a little too fast to flesh out the characters properly. What I mean is that while the characters are very likeable I feel like we didn't had the chance to like them as much as we should. I wish there was more time to know them better without of all the action going on.

More to the point: I wish there was more intimacy. This is the first time I wish for a "beach episode" haha

Amazing art and correct plot

The art is above average, the story is correct, characters could be more consistent and better fleshed... Most importantly it could have been 40 chapter less without any issues in the story or the flow.
Still it's a good read with a competent but nice FL and a loving but respectful and not overbearing ML.

dropped after chapter 24. take my opinion w a grain of salt again cuz i haven’t read full way but like i got soooo bored cuz it was just so terrible predictable and repetitive
was searching for a simp ml and competent fl dynamic in oi. def delivers on that but maybe too well.
ml is super sweet but it’s a bit annoying
how much he keeps running away from her and degrading himself. like just talk to her gd
i usually complain about the plot bluffs but actually they’re fucking hilarious. basically the fl discovers this pseudo victorian european magic world has lots of korean elements just randomly thrown in there which is just so 😭
i was really scared about the age gap. it’s like
three years but they meet when she’s real young. honestly that probably set me off, like how she was drawn to be this malnourished little girl and he was way taller and seemed fully grown. was dying for the time skip cuz it bothered me so bad. romantic development is confusing too like when did you start liking her bud? as a tiny 12 yo…?
lots of light jokes, seems to have an episodic feel with repeating character traits. interesting demon inclusion (gives me like spirited away vibes) but like again nothing out of the ordinary for an oi except for the mask part.
fls tolerable too so no worries, she’s actually quite capable and works well on her own which is great. not too much personality ig but she’s v mature and kinda funny and knows what’s up

overall: 6/10 cuz it wasn’t particularly bad, it just wasn’t unique idk. i’ve seen better ig

Time of Review: Chapter 31 (Tapas)

I want to rate this webcomic higher, and I honestly wish I could. The main characters are cute and refreshing, its nice to have such a doting, shy, and sweet boy as the ML. Gotta love the large amount of martially trained ladies. The fun human world object bleed over!! All fun and good stuff, but...

Yet I cannot get over the weird setup of the "devils and evil beasts" who seem to be very much indistinguishable from humans in terms of having culture, community, and values. All of the humanoid devils or beasts seem to be completely rational yet our main characters have declared to kill them all? But they only do it sometimes and are otherwise chill with them? They'll even shop at their stores for crying out loud. It comes across as confusing at best and lazy writing at its worst. I can't say much more without spoiling some later plot points, but it is frustrating.

If there's not a major story thread that explains that not all devils are evil (and also that classifying them all under the lump term of devil is probably like, super incorrect?) then I won't up my rating.

Ep 43 update: Bruh (minor spoiler)

did the FL just invent devil crypto currency? 😂 I'm so done yo. The author just writes whatever they want huh.

The Misunderstanding is Annoying

In 60 chapters, there is no progress in the misunderstanding between the two leads being cleared. Just when you think things will clear up between the two, another problem occurs. It seems like the author plans to drag it out to the end. But what point is there in that? We will probably only see the two leads being in a proper relationship for a chapter or two. It's a shame since the art is nice, and the story (besides their relationship) is interesting. For someone like me who hates misunderstandings that goes on for a while, I was able to keep up with it until now. So that goes to say how good the storytelling is. If you don't mind misunderstandings and being frustrated, I'm sure you will like this. But if you're like me, give up on it or you'll find yourself yelling at your screen.
