Description

This is not only a simple story about boy meets boy they fall in love and f*ck their brains out during the rest of the series...
This is a story about many relationships, and about LOVE... just many forms of love... 😃
from the purest to the most twisted, it has them all...
Also don't think it's booring cause the plot has sooo many twists! 😲 that will keep u entertain until the very end!...... The only bad thing, it's that u have to be really paying attention to the story cause it's kind of complicated sometimes 😕 cause of those same twists, but it's good though!
but they all share one thing in common...Despair.. 😢 ... (and also possessiveness at it's BEST! )...
PD: If u are thinking of reading it know.. be smart and go look 4 a tissue honey, u will need it! LOL ...cause many tears will come! because of crying or laughing 🤣 😢

Poor characters, and also poor little heart 🙁 ... (of course MY heart! <3 and yours! after u read this!)

Scene-to-scene transitioning ruins story!

I give this an unflinching 2 out of 10.

I'm always desperate for longer shounen ai and yaoi series and I was excited when I read the summary for this series and saw its length. My initial excitement faltered by the second page. The artwork is beautiful. The clichés are plentiful, to the point of redundancy, but given the entire premise is cracky I can’t complain.

The problem is the execution of the story. It’s clear that Kim Se-Young is a great artist, but not a great writer. I find similar examples of rushed storytelling in other Korean manhwa and I’m inclined to think it’s stylistic of the culture. Nevertheless, I take issue with the haphazard storyboarding. It’s too rushed. Too many things are going on all at once. Between one page and the next, six different things have happened, half of which happened off-panel, or as you comic savvy people would call it in the “gutter”. I understand the artist needs to conserve space and only draw the important events, but that’s no excuse for including redundant images of the protagonist decked out in flowery dresses and exclude the more important panels that tell readers what’s going on in the story.

There are so many scene-to-scene transitions that I simply couldn’t keep up with what was going on. With 9 volumes, you’d expect slower plot development and some moment-to-moment or aspect-to-aspect transitions to really build the world and flesh things out. I couldn’t follow the crazy fast paced workings of this series, no matter how hard I tried. It became ridiculous. Kudos on the art, but Kim Se-Young should not be allowed to storyboard her own work. It’s a waste of artwork.

Beautiful, this happens to be one of my all time favorite yaoi manwa because...The artwork, It melds and blurs the line between feminine beauty and male beauty quite well. Most certainly; upon my first initial read, I would occasionally mistaken the characters for one another; as they all have very similar features, but this can be a forgiving flaw when the art is so intricately breathtaking in detail, the clothing of the characters in particular, and the plot isn't so bad either...The ending felt a bit rushed, leaving the story lines of the other characters just a tiny bit under developed with abrupt endings (like the main character's brothers) A fact that the author herself makes fun of in one of the last panels. At least overall said endings weren't silly cliched up deux ex machina like (least in my opinion) I also found myself being more drawn to the secondary couple's story to be honest (The story of the prince and Shahi). It's a beautifully drawn manga with a soft, comedic, fairy tale like feel; an entertaining read at best, a bit confusing at worst, but an enjoyable read nonetheless.

then shahi shielded him? so what does shahi actually feel for the crown prince? can anyone explain to me?

Wow, I don't even know what to say... I just loved everything about this, mainly the plot. All the angst made my body tingle, in a good way. Although the story introduces many characters, you really get to know all of them and get to feel closer to them with every passing chapter. I love that none of the drama was over-exaggerated, and the emotional developments in the story seemed overall believable. I just love it so much that I can't even write a more coherent response about it <3

Very cute and nice story. The art is really amazing at times.
There weren't any characters who looked alike as other commenters claimed, if they were, they were not a part of the story, only memmories.
The ending was just too sweet.. Like even more than in the movie "the importance of being Ernest".. really nice still..
Can't give it a perfect 10.. because of the flwas..

All in all, pretty good. I enjoyed all the characters and watching the interplay and development between the various couples (almost all of them had really adorable moments, especially in the last chapter). But this manhwa's strong point is definitely the political maneuvering. I loved the way that personal histories were slowly revealed and then seeing how those histories had influenced the actions of the characters. It made it more difficult to box the characters in a "good guys" or "bad guys." Still, at times, I found these histories a bit confusing but this is might be because I was speed-reading (a testament to the manhwa's quality--I really wanted to know what was going to happen next!).

I also really liked the fact that mangaka included some interesting discussions about gender.

It makes sense that Nicole, the young prince who dresses up as his sister, is unsure about how Jed views him: is he a man, a woman, a brother, a lover, etc? And also the tribe's point of view about gender was really fascinating: gender (as a social identification) does not exist, only sex (as a physical identification) does.

But, like previous commenters mentioned, I often times had difficulty figuring out who was who. The only character I could consistently identify was Reiny (and only because she has long, black hair). Still, the manhwa's strengths were enough that I forged on through despite my confusions.

I'm really interested in the plot but the characters looks the same. After volume 2, i lost interest because i can't tell whose who and it's really confusing!! It would be awesome if someone can remake this LOL Maybe ill finish this book someday but i don't feel like stressing my eyes differentiating characters.

If it was not for him I wouldn't rate the series this high. He is just the type of uke I've always love but hardly see in manga (yeah some mangaka did try to describe this kind of uke but they usually fail...). I love uke that are breathlessly beautiful, stoic, quiet, calm.. AND being tortured in a tragedy love (ok that's kinda cruel but...). His story is also more interesting, I like Nicole and Jed and their story is cute but it's kinda typical, I'll probably forget them in two or three days...

THE ART: I think this is a main reason that decides who will love and hate this series. Those who adores the art may love it and those who can't stand it may drop this or find it awfully hard to continue reading. As for me I didn't like the art at first but it grew on me, it's the typical art of most manhwa and I've got used to it. I will give it an 8 since I love Shahi's hair style and Glewhin's clothes.

PLOT: It has lots of plot twists and while some are good a lot of them are too unreal, confusing, dramatical... it made the story unrealistic and a bit boring at the end (but still so good for a shoujou, I think)

Anyway, I think this is a worth trying manhwa. Even if you hate this it doesn't mean this manhwa is THAT terrible. Many ppl find this awesome and I think it depends on personal taste.

The plot and pacing is a bit disjointed and rushed etc. The art is what you find a lot in manhwa, at least to my knowledge, so it isn't for everyone--I could tell the characters apart but they do look too much alike. There's so variation in the faces really. I'm glad I read this online instead of downloading or buying since I think it would have been a waste. There's always a fade to black kind of thing when it comes to intimacy, so it's a put off when you already have such a weak plot. There's a gender-swapping plotline spun into the story that was just odd, as well. Not to mention a good amount of het relationships due to political marriages, just in case you aren't interested in reading about those.

My favorite relationship was the one between Darek and Shahi, but even that in the end was left in a bit of a mess. The main couple Jed and Nicole get a happy ending, but you know, they became cliche and boring after a while so the favor was lost on me. You feel relieved when it's finally over, but irritated at the same time bc you wasted your time doing so.

Also, there's a lot of images of famous castles used in this manhwa that were obviously just printed off or redrawn, eg the famous Neuschwanstein castle. It bothered me since it struck me as laziness on the artist's part to not try and draw an original design for buildings. It's obvious she isn't the greatest, but she could have at least tried.
