Description

Princess Hakunamatata of Mongolia was sent to Imperial China to marry the young emperor so that she can become the new empress. However, the emperor already has a benevolent and loving wife, and he does not wish to take in a new wife. Already angry that her new "husband" is weak, timid, and puny, the rejected Princess Hakunamatata began to create endless trouble in the Palace! She is straightforward and fearless, and does whatever she wants! Instead of confronting Princess Hakunamatata, the empress decides to betroth her to the emperor's uncle, who absolutely finds the princess intolerable. Amidst all the hilarity and misunderstanding, a conspiracy is slowly emerging from the shadows - and all four characters' fate will change forever.

TOO BRILLIANT

First off why would the author name the Mongolian Princess Hakunamatata

and later in the manhua her son Simba. That automatically made me think of The Lion King and caused me a great deal of laughter. Not to mention a Mongol bride-to-be named Alibaba LOL.

Now to business. This manhua was hilarious, laughed from beginning to end. Compared to Yan Zhi Cuo this manhua was a lot better. Hakunamatata is strong, confident, feisty and in charge. I love her. The male lead was also similar in that he was strong and confident as well. These two matched each other so well. I loved that was usually happens in shoujo manga in general was switched up here.

This girl seduces Ah-san and uses everything to her disposal (ie. the bath scene when Ah-san asks her to take off her clothes and she really does it and also when she was leaving getting Ah-san drunk and using incense to make sure she gets what she wants) I love that. I loved the story that was given to her son Simba, that was a pleasant surprise. Only thing I wished for was a reunion between Hankunamatata & Ah-san and the emperor & the empress. Considering that I read this one after Yan Zhi Cuo, I did not expect much. A surprisingly good read.

Hakunamatata is gutsy, confident, and aggressive, which is a breath of fresh air (considering shoujos always have a stereotypical push-over female lead). And the relationship between her and Ah-san is pretty cute/interesting as she tries her best to seduce him. The art is also uniquely pleasing. Some scenes can be confusing and abrupt, but no big problems for me yet.

Good Story

Art: the bodies and faces are drawn good, really, but the the mangaka can't draw action, movements, etc. If there is action than the mangaka is using as few panels and as few details as he can, mostly you see only a hand or a foot or a thing "moving" that's all. And there is almost no background (and if there is background it's OK). The arrangement of panels is sometimes misleading. It seams that the mangaka has taken the time for the main figures but no time for the background or action panels to make more panels in time. Maybe terrible tight deadlines? What a pity.

Story: A hot love story. That's all. 🙂
The characters are well balanced and believable and have a unique sets of aspirations which are also believable. The story is not stupid, not at all. Well made setting made this manhua really enjoyable.

Well I can really recommend this to everyone who can enjoy a romance, but be warned that the art, I mean the completely lack of well drawn action and movement, is lacking. And the scan from the "Friendship Scans" scanlation is not good (and very tightly cropped), but thanks for the scanlation anyway. On the other hand, I could NOT imagine a person who doesn't like Princess Hakunamatata 😀 (@mangaka: why this name? Doesn't make sense as a Mongol name at all, there is later a Mongol Prince Simba and a Mongol bride to-be named Alibaba. WTF? 🙂 ). The ending is OK, you could drag the story longer but you mustn't. The last 3 chapters are something "20 years latter", but the setting is stupid, really, and the main male character is unbelievable. If you ignore the last 3 chapters you don't lose anything.

Really liked this and it's predecessor (Yan Zhi Cuo) a lot. They are funny and cute, but my biggest complaint is that they end too abruptly. > 🙁 I want more follow up on the characters!

I enjoyed that, I was a little thrown off by the way the main story kinda ends abruptly but it all makes sense in the end(it sorta drops you into a short epilogue without telling you which is kinda cool.).

it is one of those rare shoujo stories where the main male isn't the cool type or the brazen one. the main male here is the evil-intention type at the forst glance, the antagonist type who would do anything to achieve his goal. like, everything, even when his goal has changed to 'someone'. really recommend it, and there will be some secy part also ?

Better than expected

I remember dropping this sometime ago, and decided to pick it up again. If you're patient, it's pretty damn worth it. The art is charming, especially since no character looks alike. I just wish there was more chapters about the main couple.

Good story, Scary Art

The art needs getting used to, the eyes are huge and set so close that it creeps me out. But this is the type of manga that you can ignore the art because the story is decent.

Unique sort of humour, strange and funny twist of events, and one very assertive princess. It's a fun story. Give it a go if you can survive the art.

I have a feeling You Gui Xiu was watching The Lion King while writing this Manhua. Couldn't help but notice the Character names, like 'Hakunamatata' & 'Sinba (Simba)' lol
Overall it was a pretty good manhua and I recommend reading. It really had me laughing at times lol especially the romance between the main couple. 😀

What? I dont understand this! It was going all fine until the ending, if you call that an ending. Nothing was resolved? And it seems like the author got lazy and didnt finish it for one reason or the other.
