I began reading it and was intrigued by the unique and engaging story it presented. I was hooked early on and eagerly awaited the next chapters. The story is original and with fresh character’s that are all very endearing and fleshed out quite nicely.
Plot- A grim reaper falls in love- pretty much that, but it’s presented in such a fun way, and at the same time it delves deeper into relationships and constructs loveable relationships between all the characters! The pace is nice, not too quick but just quick enough. It is only two volumes long, but in those two volumes it wonderfully completes the story in a very satisfying way.
Characters- Ren and Ai are amazing! You can’t just help but love them and their strange relationship. It’s very nice to see them grow closer together throughout the story; their actions together are very fun to read about. All the other characters are just as great, fleshed out and given their own side stories that fit into the main story beautifully. The character’s really drive the story and make it all the more better.
Art- It could be considered ‘sketchy’, it’s light and airy and everything’s very thin. I enjoyed the art; it captured a lightness and simplicity that reflected nicely on the story, even when discussing heavier topics the art helped keep dreaminess to the whole thing. It worked well.
Other- I enjoyed the story, and was quite satisfied by the ending. The only thing keeping me from quite enjoying the story was my views of God and death were not quite in sync with the characters, so especially at the end I could not completely enjoy the slight twist dealing with one of the characters. I do recommend the story, and realize that many will not feel the same as I do. All in the entire story was nice and an easy read.
8/10- Was good
