One of the "Good Endings"
by JackGrover

Rating: 9.0  / 10.0
The game itself has around 20 endings, I think only 4 are bad. Somehow those bad endings came to be called the "Good endings" in gaming circles. I watched the Anime and liked it very much. I'm not much into the twisted, or dark, stories but when they are done very well I really enjoy them. The same attention to character creation was used in this manga. Even though it's only 12 chapters (aka "Pages") long you really do get a good feel for the players. Even the side characters have well thought of personalities. The art work too is really well done. So if you can handle the male lead being a wishy-washy, go-along-with-the-flow, kind of guy and the two main female characters turning out to be psychotic stalker-types, then this is the one for you.

But remember, there IS a moral to this story that's directed to all the guys out there, make your feelings VERY clear to the women in your life!

I only read the manga, and i guess it quite fun...BUT it can be much better.
great artwork, promising opening, fine story development, destroyed character, no need to ask bout the ending -.-

In my mind, i guess the writer want something fresh, crazy in cutie typical manga. the storyline are quite good, really (well, i like it...) BUT
character development are too lame. Surely, none of character had strong personality.
the ending was a crush, fine, let it be. But it had an very weak impact. I can guess the ending when read ch 11. but I prefer Kotonoha, not Sekai. Why? Because from story development, it only seen that -Sekai is not important person that destroy whole story, whole character and whole ending.-

conc: very unique love manga, if you had spare time, just read it. No need to be so serious, the story is not very deep.

I've never played the game or seen the anime so I can only go on this plotline.

It is different to most school-life shounen romances- [possible spoilers, but not too much]
Spoiler (highlight to view)
rather than spending the majority of the manga trying to get the girl, it happens in the first chapter

it starts out very good, and i kinda understood the protagonists feelings throughout, even though i thought he should have taken control of the situation, but (without details) I didnt agree with the ending at all.

definate spoilers- dont read unless you've finished this
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the plot suddenly takes a turn with two characters attempting to kill each other at the end. this kinda spoiled it for me. it could have been done so much better, the actions were entirely out of character and unbelievable (and not in the good way). i am pretty sure that there are alternatives (and more believable ones) to this.

over all, i recommend this to someone looking for a short, plot filled story. not the best romance I have read, but better than alot of the cliche ones that drag on forever

School Days pros/cons

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Ok so this manga is about a love triangle and as most people know those can get a little messy and complicated. But this is just ridiculous! The main guy goes through the whole thing just doing whatever the hell he wants and only half heartedly protesting (at first) when Sekai starts putting the moves on him. He starts dating both girls (lucky SOB) and then suddenly he realizes oh this is wrong. The manga ends with both girls absolutely losing their minds over this guy who really has nothing special about him at all... Makoto is just so dang average is every single way it's actually a little weird.

So a quick breakdown...
Pros: clean artwork, cute girls, plenty of kiss scenes, a very different type of ending from the norm, and mostly believable character interactions (till the end at least)

Cons: almost no depth to the characters, Makota seems like a good guy but turns out to be a playboy (hey in shoujo isn't it supposed to be the other way around?), nothing really bad happens to the two jerks of the story but the good girl(?) gets stabbed to death (WTF)

Pro/con: is a short enough read that you won't absolutely hate yourself for reading it once you see the ending

I had to give it a 5 rating..... not good... not bad.... it simply is

This story always scares me. I kept anticipating which ending they were going to go with. Of all of them, this particular path was not one that I preferred. An interesting read though. Makoto is such an idiot... Sekai is just a bitch...

I'm so shocked right now. Who would've predicted that both girls were/would turn into psychotic freaks ??? Just goes to show how deceiving looks can be.
Okay, so it started as a cutesy manga with your typical girl-likes-boy, girl-sets-up-boy-with-another-girl, girl-gets-kinda-jealous-of-the-two. I kinda didn't like Kotonoha for being with Makoto 'cuz, well...in my defense, I'm a sucker for best friend dating best friend stuff. But, I looked at Makoto who seriously reminded of Manaka from Ichigo 100% ("I like her, but...I like her too. I shouldn't hurt both of them. I can't decide which one to pick.", blah, blah, blah) and at the latter part of the manga, I branded him as a bonafide playboy (just look at his face!! He looks like a kid!). At least he took the responsibility to tell Kotonoha that he was two-timing. And he got what he deserved at the end.
Well, in the end it was Sekai who let me down a lot. Oh man, did she turn out to be a BITCH and an unbalanced lunatic!!! That was so twisted of her to set up the guy with someone else in the first place and then tell him that she 'loves' him! In chapter 12, man...when I saw the "errand" she'd gone to run....I'll just say this to Makoto - Dude, I pity you so much for having a mentally unstable girlfriend now.
Finally, I felt really bad for Katonoha, having to bear the brunt of the mishaps of the other two characters...this is the most twisted ending I've ever seen in a manga. Totally made me go WTF after I shut the last page.
I checked back the genres this series belonged to and saw horror and tragedy after I'd read it...could've seen that earlier.
Anyway...if you have spare time read it for its not too long and is sort of entertaining....the beginning is. The end is well....crazy to say the least, and if I want to be diplomatic, i'd go for different. Not your usual stuff, but not too shabby either. I still say that if those girls had to go psycho, it should've been known or hinted at at first. But then again, how would it cover up for the disturbing factor?

I've read the manga up to chapter 9 and I must say I'm quite disappointed. Things go pretty good up to chapter 8 but then it starts to look like one of those lame tv programs such as The Young and the Restless... Well, to anyone who expects the main character to gain consistency, just don't read this.
Edit: Actually chapter 11 shows up something pretty interesting at the end of it, look for it, it's like a turning point!
Edit2: Actually it isn't, the three last chapters destroyed the entire series

the title speaks for itself.
the series was actually pretty good, but then at the end on the last 2 chapters was just a big WTF?!?!
the love triangle was all nice and i wanted to see how it would have progressed, but it seemed like the author just wanted to end this series asap... i would have given this series an 8/10 but now after finishing it im giving it a 5/10...
also this is one effed up manga too...

manga was decent enough till the last 2 chapters. I think the author just got bored and decided to be a big jerk, and made the 2 girls go crazy. If i was Makato i would have jumped out the window the during the last page.

The manga started out great! smile the art give abit different feeling to the anime itself. However, the manga itself has potrayed the story more on the surface. (Anime has a much indept story.)

Spoiler (highlight to view)
As the story advances in the manga, its show the facts that the protagonist is struggling between the 2 girls. Although, ended quite unexpected that both of the female char become psycho freaks.

Overall, this manga shows the negative image of society, in terms of its extreme.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The facts that they(the 2 female char) slash each other with a cleaver.....
