Yuu is a high school kid who doesn't really fit anywhere. To find a place he can belong, be accepted, he will do anything. However one thing leads to another and he is forced to fight to keep his place, his holyland.
18 Volumes (Complete)

The art is exceptional. the bad guys look bad and the good guys look really good. Also you get a preview into the some of the basic mechanics of many forms of martial arts. Rather than the good guy always winning because he's got all the luck or power (ie because he's the 'good guy' 😉 you get to see how and why the 'bad guy' got taken down and what he could have done (but didn't) to prevent it... as well as a glimpse into their psyche.
Character development is also great. Yuu is the underdog of all underdogs... and around vol 4 you just don't want him to lose. For a wimp he's got a lot of spare backbone.
An extremely addicting manga. I'm up to chapter 36 right now. I couldn't stop myself from downloading the raws for volume 4 and 5. I just had to peek ahead. ^^ The storyline is highly riveting and the fight scenes are very cool... The author include lots of details about different techniques so its not boring.
All in all, I love Holyland and I can hardly wait for more.
I was skeptical about this manga at first and had avoided reading it on more then 1 occasion. But then I finally said "Hell lets give this a try." And I was blown away! This manga is amazing! Truly nothing I have read can compare, the realistic fighting and the characters slow change over these 36 chapters have been great! I look forward to reading the future releases! So for all you who are thinking like me, give it a shot. I know you'll like it.
Some faster Translator needs to pick up this manga, I read until he latest chapter and i have to say its brilliant. Cant wait to find out what happens next.
seriously. i was reading this online, and i reached the end of chapter 35 with out realizing it. and when my right arrow stopped advancing the story, i almost shed a tear. so sad. i need more of this manga. its so good. especially if you actually fight, like professionally or as an amateur, you get even more out of this.
well first i should say that i have never seen more realistic fights and the way author tells a story is great ( also a story even thought it sounds very standard it is not and u can tell that from first chapter ) .If u want to see how he mess up 20 guys at once this is not a manga for u but if u want to know what a guy like him thinks how u can become strong from weak ( and i m not talking about mangish river training ) this is masterpiece for u
p.s i rated it 9.5 just because i have just readed 35 chapters and than i will finish it all i probably will rate it 10 ^_^ illuminanti - manga i beg u guys translate this project faster
he's pretty pathetic at first, then his friend gets fffed up, then he goes into totally badass mode/executioner, combining his awesome strate with brass knuckles and rolled up newspapers!
this mangas raw as hell....there way too few great martial arts mangas, but it's not just the fighting, it has good characters with good character development and a very interesting plot i recommend this manga to any seinen fan...it's a very good read all in all
When i started reading this manga I thought Yuu was such a punce/wimp, but fortunately he is a prodigy at street fighting who becomes quite fearful in the later chapters. If your in the mood for a good action manga with emotional value you can't go wrong with Holyland.
