Description

Ms. Aoshika is not only divorced, but an underappreciated teacher at her job. But one drunken mishap leads her to witness firsthand the brutal assault and murder of a young man. However, after fainting, she awakens to discover that all of the assailants have been seriously wounded.
And to her further surprise, the next day she discovers that not only is the young man, Akira, she met the night before alive, but he is now her new transfer student.

A grittier remake of the first volume of Wolf Guy (SAKAGUCHI Hisashi) with elements from later published material inserted.

I can't really speculate on what I actually think of this manga yet.. Sure, it IS a bit vulgar in some areas but I don't know. I find Inugami to be an interesting character along with the teacher. There's just something about those two that I find "attractive." There seems to be a story somewhere so I'm just gonna wait and see what will happen next. But there's some seriously beautiful artwork here. Nothing like I've ever seen before, really.

This manga carries a moment of excitement, to which can be a hit or miss to different readers.I respect Inugami as a character because of his strong pacifism, and yet even if he did not want to kill people, he knows he can with a flick of a finger. The author makes the yakuza take extreme steps

such as bombing the school though I wouldn't want that to happen in reality and how much they despise Inugami when really , they despise themselves because they could not beat someone who won't fall back.

Over all, the artworks is amazingly beautiful but full of such human darkness. Proportions on most female characters are however extremely exaggerated to the point where it becomes distasteful. And as if that wasn't bad enough, it is also the violent acts performed on those (overly sexualized) women that makes the artist comes off as kind of a degenerate.

I can't seem to find the main reason of why I like this manga so much. It's just so addictive. At first, I didn't think a manga based on werewolves would work, but this totally does. It's brutal with its violence, over the top sometimes but it just fits into a perfect whole.

Cliched, yet not so cliched.

This story is a rather interesting one. what makes it so interesting is it's make up. It has the usual cliches we would see in mangas however considering it is a werewolf story it doesn't have the usual cliches involved in that kind of story. For instance when everyone thinks of werewolves, we always think of a berserk half man half beast, but in this story that's not the case. Inugami is highly intelligent, even more so when he transforms into a werewolf. Then there is his non-confrontational attitude as a wolf as well. It is very unlike unusual werewolf stories I've ever seen like "American Werewolf in London" as an example. He's an extremely calm and collected character for being a werewolf. The story is very complex, yet not at the same time. In all honesty this is probably one of the few stories where you really would have to give it time to get through and see it's true beauty. But in order to do that though you still have to keep in mind that it's looks are slightly deceiving. What seems the same to us all the time is not necessarily so in regards to this story since it's a side that hasn't really been done before in regards to the werewolf genre.

That title does it so little justice yet sums it up quite well. The thing, with only twelve chapters so far, is absolutely stunning.

If you liked Akumetsu to any degree, you have GOT TO READ THIS MANGA. Made by the same(now apparently and evidently) awesome mangakas, the story is enticing, characters are quite amazing, and the art is...

Art is godly. If you know akumetsu art, then you'll recognize this immediately in five pages flat, but then you'll notice after a couple of chapters... It's godly. Akumetsu art turned godly, that's how to sum it up. In only twelve chapters, there are dozens of stunning, fucking amazing artistic moments. Blood done perfect, action is fluid, the arrogance captured amazingly. Although different from it, this art almost rivals that of Berserk in terms of awesomeness. Almost, and that's saying a fucking lot, right?

Story is good and simple for the amount of chapters out. Outcast werewolf gets transferred to new school, and because of the arrogance in his eyes, he is immediately targeted by the superbad gang of deliquents there. And these deliquents aren't just your normal delinquents; these are some tough ass mothers.

Characters are awesome. The maincharacter is maybe an antihero, not too sure yet. The teacher has too large boobs- make it one or two sizes smaller and less skirts and I'd like her more, although her design is nice. The deliquent chick is my favorite dressed girl, and she acts so funny and slutty in a wicked way. And of course, the main deliquent... OMFG, he's a middle schooler?!

That's the only bad part about this manga. I'm pretty sure that 9th grade is considered middle school in japan, but still... really? At least put them in a high school where the violence and sex is a bit more in the right place. I mean, some girls with giving a guy(student or teacher, I'm not sure) a forced blowjob on the roof... I mean, damn.

I still haven't seen anything like it, is what I would like to say. I'm not so sure about it yet, since I had read only the first chapter, but if there is something else that came into my mind while reading it, it was "It's good". It's from the pair that made Akumetsu, check it out.

Like many others have already stated, this manga isn't original. It has nothing new to offer, even after 61 chapters. And in case some people are hopeful that the plot will improve and get more complicated... no, it doesn't really. The plot pretty much boils down to: Boy is immortal werewolf that gets into a bunch of fights with school delinquents. Oh, and his ridiculously big-boobed teacher (who was raped) is hot for him. The entire story seems to be driven entirely by gratuitous violence and sex. I have no problem with sex and violence in a Seinen story, as long as it's actually RELEVENT to the plot and advances the story. But a lot of it in this one is pure fan disservice (for example, the HORRIBLE masturbation scene for rat boy - what the heck was that all about?!).

And a lot of problems and conflict that come about in the story are ridiculous, and require an unbelievable amount of suspension of disbelief. Examples include: Inugami lamenting about how violent and disgusting humans are, and how much he hates them... only for him to promptly attend a school filled with psychotic delinquents. He constantly gets annoyed about troublesome fights and acts like he wants to play it low key... yet he keeps insulting the delinquents and picking fights. It also makes no sense why he keeps smugly showing off his superhuman werewolf powers to everyone and their kid brother. And that's saying nothing about how over-the-top the villains are. Heck, Inugami's main adversary, Haguro, is a 16-17 year old Yakuza (that looks like a bizarre mix between Kisame from Naruto and The Joker) that goes around randomly maiming and raping his minions. Sometimes it's perfectly fine to be over-the-top and ridiculous. But the story just takes itself WAY too seriously, and has such an emo, wangsty feel about it.

Finally a werewolf story and a pretty good one at that. Main guy is pretty much shouting his sexuality and at the same time challenging delinquents without actually doing so. Can't wait to see more

Wolf Guy is by far my favorite manga. Don't get me wrong - I'm not some n00b who fell in love with the first manga she read. Oh no, I'm much worst. I've read a superfluous amount of manga (my computer actually crashed because I had so much of it saved) and I never dreamed that a series as short as this one is right now could have possible "captured the hill."

But it did.

I fell in love after reading the first chapter. I then avidly waited for the second. After reading the second, I couldn't take it anymore. Savageness, intelligence, and Akira Inugami's cursed and awesome aura pulled me in. I found a website that distributes Japanese products, www.bk1.jp, and went ahead and ordered the four volumes that were available. I don't know a shred of Japanese, but the drawing is so epic and the expressions are so vivid that you don't need to know what's being said to know what's going on. Quite different from Dogs Bullets and Carnage, no?

The fifth volume is either out now or being distributed this month - 05/2009 (I don't know enough Japanese to figure out what bk1 was saying). Either way, I bought it.

Wolf Guy is so well written, well drawn, well plotted, hell: well done, that I fell it trumped the series that got me into manga, Berserk. Perhaps it's not for everyone. Actually, it's most definitely not. It's violent. It's sexual. It's brilliant. It's passionate.

Are you getting what I'm trying to say?

If not, let me clarify: I. Love. Wolf. Guy. I highly recommend it to anyone who can handle it. If any translators read this, do yourself a favor and read it. Then possibly do a huge favor for us monolingual English-speakers and hop on over to MangaHelpers.

this thing's good. i'd say a notch or two above akumetsu. it's faster paced with a lot less dialogue to slow you down, as well as enough information for the reader to get a clear description of the plotline. art's about the same, more or less. so far the three chapters have been pretty interesting. and the protagonist [i'm tempted to say antihero, but i can't really confirm it yet] is this aloof badass who's brazen to the core, unafraid of knives and gangsters and hot female homeroom teachers.
