the story is very interesting, though maybe this one is his early work, and eventhough I'm his big fans, the art cannot be helped, kind of pathetic. but every story is unique and fine. I would like to see some stories being a serial...

The art was not impressive. Then again, this is pre-Houshin Engi. So let's just talk about plot.

This collection felt more like flashes of ideas quickly jotted down then developed. I thought that while most of the stories were interesting, the were either too rushed or presented too straightforwardly. More could have been done to make the stories richer.

Somehow i wish he went to work on developing these stories rather than coming up with his latest one-shots which are rather vapid. At least these have more depth to them.

Each story was set in a different possible world. What is man like in each different world? What will and what can mab do to survive? Interesting stories and concepts on alternate realities.

Stories
  • The Sound of Hamelins Flute
  • Worlds
  • Tight Rope
  • Shadow Disease
  • Soul of Knight

This short story compilation didn't thrill me. The best of the bunch is probably Shadow Disease, with Tight Rope being second best. The stories themselves vary in quality, and development.

The quality of art also varies from good enough to mediocre. There are panels which seem very promising, but none of them are all that great. I don't really care for the artist's style anyway.

Some of the characters are somewhat interesting, but a single short story doesn't allow for much development. Interesting ideas for character designs show up in Soul of Knight and The Sound of Hamelins Flute.

Recommended for fans of the magaka's other works only. Fans of Fantasy and Sci-fi should read only if extremely bored. While some horror elements are used in a couple of the stories, I can't recommend this to Horror fans at all.
