Ngl, I went into this thinking "I'm just gonna read a few chapters, probably some pride and prejudice adaptation" and it was much MORE than that. If you like to read stories with major character development, this one is a perfect example. It's also not just a simple love story where two opposites draw closer by understanding the other's view and situation (prejudice) or refusing to recognized the hurt feelings from the initial rejection (pride). We really get to see how they set up their values, how their memories impact them, and what kind of relations matter to them. I especially loved how the love story was embedded into the historical setting with family tragedies and political/economic backgrounds were not only used as plot devices and does not focus too much on the couple. Definitely recommend and will read again!

The storyline and characters have a strong enough footholding that I'd go back to continue reading even though I've put it down for a few days. I can't quite get behind the their toxic relationship though. I appreciate the single person's translations but some panels were confusing and hard to follow. Reading when you're not fully understanding makes the story much more watered-down. Nonetheless, I still finished it and am glad the author didn't drag it out.

This is not your typical historical manhwa. Somehow, it has Jane Eyre or Pride n Prejudice vibe. You know, all those angst and slow burn romance.

I like that both the FL and ML are multi dimensional characters (even if sometimes it’s so frustating to see their actions with each others T_T). The characters development is subtle but captured beautifully. Love the drawing style also.

If you love classic romance novel with strong FL, you’ll love this manhwa.

Plot:
Its well ploted (the dramas, the reasons behind every actions, are well plotted) and ofc, dramatic & tragic (no humor/comedy).

Characters:
The characters are well developed. Not too overly amazing and perfect but not too ugly and boring. The development for each character is great from time to time.

Art:
The art is decent but at chp 20-ish until now, it has became better and more beautiful.

Note:
The romance thingy starts at chp 31 and onward.
This is a story of people who tried to move on from their tragic past.
If ur worried of the stupid FL, don't worry, she would be better and more tough from time to time.
Same goes to the arrogant ML, he would be better and he has his own reasons to do so.
Its a kinda complicated tragic/dramatic story.
