Read From Chapter 1-109 (translated)
The author's personal note about the Main Character:
"This novel is a story about how a chuunibyou youth, who constantly courts death, but lives better than anyone else!"
"He might be funny, but he is not stupid!"
The translator's (Wuxiaworld) Note about some of the characters design which will also be mentioned by the author himself later:
"There will be a few future characters who will be described to have the looks of certain Japanese manga and anime characters, but they do not have any similarities with the manga and anime counterpart other than looks. The author also stopped modelling characters after manga and anime characters pretty quickly."
Plot:
A 13 year old boy (probably Chinese) got transported to a parallel earth right after his game character just die on his computer video game. How he got "transported" is unknown and how long he been there (parallel earth) is unknown at the start of "chapter 1". This parallel earth is similar if not the same as earth in term of scientific technology and certain countries name & places existence with the only difference in that it also has people with superpower and supernatural monster that threaten humanity. Did he (MC) just arrive or was he homeless? that is the question on chapter 1 that really was never answer.
Main Character:
I would personally call the Main Character as an annoy idiot because of his full blown Chuunibyou mode 90% of the time. The 10% where he not in Chuunibyou mode are when his life is in danger or if he has request for someone in order get stronger. Or else he stay in Chuunibyou mode regardless time and place 24/7. I really want to hit him and yell "there are time and place" and no I don't really hate the main character, I just want him to grow up a little. There will be characters that will call our MC "country bumpkin" which in truth there are some truth to it as in one chapter reveal a bit of his background when he was still on earth when he was young in traumatic episode of his life. Because he keep saying alot of Nonsense while in Chuunibyou mode, alot of people will misunderstand him while sometime calling him a liar while other time a pervert. Oh by the way; our main character a 13 year old young man who is a "country bumpkin" believes that having a "girlfriend" is bad thing which he was told of this by someone close to him who fail at getting one when he was young. Our main character is still at the stage of not understand the meaning of "love" (for the opposite gender) and the relationship to it, but it not like he not curious about it when it present itself to him however usually he don't care.
Story:
Long story short; MC want to be a hero (reason for being Chuunibyou) but know he weak so he want to be stronger.
I will stated this; the 1st two arc of the story still didn't stop me from thinking of the main character as an idiot fool who run his mouth yet for some reason power by the luck of the "author" design he will survive. Only when the 3rd arc started that I think of the MC as less of a fool but he still an idiot. I do agree with the author that he not stupid, but he still an fool.
So for all the people who want to read this; please be cautious that you may not like MC way of speaking and you must get past through his foolishness in the 1st two arc before the interesting thing start in 3rd arc.
