Tsukimi Kurashita has a strange fascination with jellyfish. She’s loved them from a young age and has carried that love with her to her new life in the big city of Tokyo. There, she resides in Amamizukan, a safe haven for girl geeks who regularly gush over a range of things from trains to Japanese dolls. However, a chance meeting at a pet shop has Tsukimi crossing paths with one of the things that the residents of Amamizukan have been desperately trying to avoid a beautiful and fashionable woman! But there’s much more to this woman than her trendy clothes! This odd encounter is only the beginning of a new and unexpected path for Tsukimi and her friends.

. This 17 volume series was too long with alot of downhill moments. The series is essentially a fashion, Ugly Duckling and a love triangle story. All 3 which i feel were poorly executed. The series just took too long to deal with anything in the series. This is a 17 volumes series yet it felt 11 volumes too long. Its way too slow to the point that the last chapter... didn;t feel rushed hillariously enough. Despite wrapping up like a buncha plotlines. I enjoyed the comedy when it involved the Vixen and the driver. However the comedy elements involving the main and supporting cast just didn't work. It was golden in the anime but failed in the manga. I liked the idea of becoming fashion designers but it was executed pretty poorly. there was some good moments but there were far too inbetween. Also the MMC's reason for crossdressing takes way too long to be explained. For majority of the series you supposed to believe he's just a horrible person that takes advantage of his father while simultaneously trying to make him mad. I don't think the father is a great person either. But for me the worst person in this series was the MMC he was selfish more majority of the series. The romance was also good fun in the earlier parts but at the end as expected it fell apart. I think the ugly ducking story as well was done poorly. Besides the FMC none of them have legitimate developments. Except maybe the tall chick

I didn't think this was a bad series but it was incredibly mundane. It had few good moments but was barely passable overall. The funniest moments in the manga were the bonus omakes about the author's personal life. so thats not something you should be the case in your comedy manga.

5/10 Rare case the anime being superior

well... this was screaming 'shallow' from the very beginning, so I'm not that surprised that it really turned out to be.
Did I enjoy this? Certainly yes.
Would I recommend it? Probably yes, if you're just looking for a bit of fun, and you like the style and this manga's brand of beauty (I loved it).
But man, so many stereotypes! So many generalizations! "All girls want to be princesses"? Why is that? Who said that? Why won't people treat amars seriously? Why do they have to change how they look to be treated with something at least resembling respect? They ARE strange. But should this strangeness have ANYTHING to do with how officials treat them? To protect their home they do have to change - to become more brave, eloquent, serious. But that's not that kind of story. They do become better in those regards, but mostly it's about physical transformation. Yes, the author tries to find a middle ground here, but I don't think that she's entirely successful. Not to mention, the garbled last chapters do dilute the message a lot - maybe if she had more space (or wanted it, for all I know), she could resolve it better.
Romance - in the end, it just feels pasted on. IMO, the way it was treated until the end, it would have been better if no one said anything about it.
And I agree with the previous comments - some serious issues are glossed over here. One of the amars, who was a bitch to her family, is treated like THEY were bitch to her instead. TBH, when I was reading about her, I was thinking 'go find a job' nonstop.
IDK, it's important to chase your dreams, but hell, earn some money for them yourself. Or at least show your desire to work.
Anyway - it's all cool if you don't treat it seriously. That's all I can say. If you will, it may make you reeeeally irritated.

Best comedy in a long Time!

This is one of the funniest manga I've read in a long time. There's an extremely unique and diverse cast of characters, and surprisingly author doesn't fall into ethnocentric view of other cultures that less worldly mangaka are prey to. From the onset it is clear the authornis knowledgeable about a great number. of rhings too, which keeps the reading interesting. I see complaints in the comments section about lack of character development - I dont think that is true. If anything the development is more realistic because it is slow and subtle. Have to realise the main characters are NEETS that have been bullied all their lives and the focus is comedy of their struggle to maintain their questionable lifestyle. They are not world conquering sword swinging superhumans with unwavering resolve but fragile girls whom can be bought with promises of Korean BBQ

I love this manga so much!? There is so much character growth within the manga!? Lovely storyline, characters, art, and everything!? I really anxious to see what will happen next!? I love this manga. I'll say it again. I love this manga. There are very few mangas that I think deserve to be rated a 10. This however, is definitely one of them. I originally started reading it because of the anime, but after starting to read it, I found I enjoyed it even more. Now that the scanalators are into manga only material, its just getting better and better. The 2 main characters, the older brother. Even the other otakus, they're all so fun and enjoyable to see. The love and romance of a girl who thinks she is an ugly duckling, who is turned, almost against her will into a beautiful swan.

It's a great between piece. Humorous, light and quick with a steady background story that keeps the plot moving. The characters are wonderfully human and interesting- one without the other is no good. A pleasure to follow and I intend to buy the lot as soon as I can.

When I read the ending it feels like "that's it?"
It feels like it left with loose end..
It feels like out of nowhere it becomes like that, disjointed, not naturally flow into an ending

I love how the author actually shows the steps that the girl takes in order to reach her dreams. This manga is not overshadowed by teenage angst and romance, thank goodness. Instead, there is a perfect mix of love, humor, life, and dreams. Oh, and lovely genderbending!!! 🙂

This defies so many other stories' faults by rising up as a manga that doesn't focus purely on one aspect. By reading this, we all might learn something about ourselves because this manga is most definitely easy to relate to.

My only complaint would be the lack of character/relationship development. As others have pointed out, much of this is somwhat STATIC... which is not good. I hope the author takes this into consideration in the future chapters. 🙁

I love this manga.
It is ABSOLUTELY ORIGINAL.
anyone who even THINKS of mentioning a DAMN CLICHE is WRONG.
I personally don't care about cliches. BUT I get angry when people just force them down on a manga that doesn't have any =.= GOODNESS.
ANYWAY

*Characters. EACH ONE HAS THEIR OWN BACKGROUND
*EVERYTHING.

I just realized, this manga has EVERYTHING you could want in a good manga, and all of those things x300 in AWESOMENESSS. So it's pointless for me to list off everything, when I can just say, it's not lacking a SINGLE thing, and it keeps coming up with surprises!

This is one of the few mangas that make me laugh out loud. c: I love the humor, >3< AND ITS JUST SO CUTE.

Gah.
This manga is good for all ages. C: I'm 13, and I love it! Though it says its for older women.. guys and girls younger than me could love it, if they give it a chance.
