Description

only read this because the title cracks me up but the story is nothing very unique to note. one minute the fl will be like oh shit it's the ml I gotta avoid him!!!!! and when the ml ignores her she's like why is he ignoring me?! like girl make up ur mind ?#)#)?!

ML and FL are not as smart as the author wants you to believe.

The FL is in the position of a maid, but she has none of the limitations of being a maid. The story could have just made her a friend of the family or a sister and nothing about the story will change. The FL can tell a person of power she doesn't want to work for them and poof, absolutely no consequences too her actions. I can't help but wonder why even make her a maid in the first place if she is not bound to the harsh realities attached with being a maid?

The setting doesn't add much to the story since everybody is just doing whatever they want and no one is bound by any of the rules that come with being in an aristocratic setting.

I would have given the book a 5 as it is ok, but both the ML and FL are portrayed as intelligent people but the author has written them both to be idiots, and by idiots I don't mean the entertaining kind. I don't even know if the author has realized they wrote them this way as it seems the author really wants us to believe that both the ML and FL are smart.

To explain what I mean:

The male lead wants to know the FL better and decides to hatch a plan that requires the FL to spend time AWAY from the ML thus making the whole plan make no type of sense. Since when does having no time for one another help you learn about a person? He isn't written as if he is supposed to be clueless either so it comes off as if the author expects us to believe he is a smart person making smart decisions, but the reality is the idea was just dumb and he should feel dumb but he doesn't.

Then we have the FL who has all the knowledge about the type of man the ML is, but b.c he is pretty and makes a nice gesture towards her everything she knows about his personality vanishes. Why is she so stupid? Why isn't she suspicious just a little bit? How hard is it to have her extremely suspicious of him while having her fight against his charms to add some dynamics. Humans can have conflicting emotions, it would have allowed the FL to act like a person with knowledge of the ML, while at the same time allow the author to let their FL drool over ML.

Overall the story is ok and would have been fun if the author actually made use of the hardships that come with this time period. The characters are all ok, but the ML and FL are insultingly dumb b.c the author wants you to believe their actions are smart. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, but I wouldn't tell anyone not to read this either. I say if you really want to read it, then read the first 10 chapters and then decide for yourself.

Just didn’t hold my interest. The MC came off as greedy and stupid. maybe if she’d invested more in moderation it wouldn’t have been so irritating. But it was frustrating to see the same problems just kept come up over and over. Skimmed over parts of season two to get past the repetitiveness.
