just like high school girls - so innocent in their life, but experimenting with their femininity and explore the more erotic part of their body. fill with zany gag and unabashed vulgar comedy, this is great for both guys and girls who love raunchy comedy. a big plus showcasing girls friendship, its not often you can find laidback girls friendship, not just a backdrop for guys adventure.

One of the funniest comedy I've read so far.
The characters are hilarious, the situations, the dialogs and the reactions are oddly accurate and funny as Hell ! Mangas that are able to provoke uncontrollable fits of laughter in me are not that common, and High school girls is one of them. XD

It definitely did a brilliant job in serving its purpose. It was extremely funny! Every volumes, every chapters, every dialogue had me smiling and giggling if not burst out laughing. You really don't want to skip any reading because you'll be missing out on some hilarious joke. It was interesting. I was so sad to see it end. I usually don't really like mangas that lack plot. But this one gave me a whole new experience. It was so relaxing. A very light read. The ending wasn't spectacular, but it really touched me since I'm also ending my highschool career. It definitely went beyond my expectation. The art was nice. The characters were hilarious and unique. There was no plot, but it feels like the manga is moving forward and not really stuck at some moment for too long. Definitely an underrated manga.

I was hoping for realistic view of all-girl school, but there is quite a few things really said. Too many insanity, nonsense, repetition used. Same things can be said with 5x less volumes. Manga is mostly comedy. As a seinen its a joke, female characters too "realistic", thus unlikable. Also males here surely unrealistic, which reminds of author's gender: total players, ugly things, ideal bishonen princes. I'v also got a feeling that “lead” female (not by page space by the end of manga) it a lesbian with her man-hating attitude, overreaction to female attention and weird nosebleeds (maybe also because of her similarity to lead female of Aoishiro).

i am a guy dont know about how real it is but seems real sometimes with exaggeration well its all fun manga you will enjoy it and anime doesnt really stands out in anime it makes it echii otherwise its not like that though they are panty shots and breasts. dont miss it every dialogue of story is interesting and worth reading. thank you OSHIMA Towa

everything in here is sooooo true!! im a girl.. so i know!! i can totally relate..
i really love this series.. how it tackles everything.. i mean its hilarious but it still has a heart.. how it tells about the family bonds and friendship as well!! and also the future and parting.. i love that!! i still dont want it too end but at least it didnt became some draggy story with repetitive action!!
and also i have to say.. even though it was nine volumes it still made me laugh!! actually im smilimg right now!! yup.. thats how much i love it.. but judging from the lack of excitement in my commenting.. im sad as well.. because i really dont want it to end!! i want more!!

that said.. of course my score is ten!!

I admit it, I like ecchi. At least, I like the idea of ecchi. Most ecchi I just can't stand because the girls in it are so weak and pure and submissive, humanizations of the horrible ideal that is yamato nadeshiko. The title girls in HSG are not that. They're bitchy and both strong-minded and dirty-minded. They have periods. They really don't care much about boys. In all, they act like real girls. It's probably because this ecchi is actually written by a woman. She doesn't have any romantic ideals about girlhood, so she can make it as gross as it really is.

It's a really fun read and the art work is perfect, character is all likable. To sum up, it's a 10/10 and hilarious read.
And for me - a guy - it gave me a lot of damn funny new experience

The title at first threw me off, but after seeing some random screen caps and shots of the manga changed my mind.

However, I don't think Oshima has been working on it lately... are there going to be more than 9 volumes?

not a waste of your time, and will definitely make you laugh. if you're looking for comedy you should definitely read this.
