Rating: 8 (Very Good)
Time of Review: Chapter 35 (Manta)
Favorite Aspect: Incredibly unique and new, I'm enjoying the slow revealing of the world and its mysteries the author is putting forth.
Now, maybe I'm just hungry for anything that's not set in a Victorian low fantasy setting but Faust is, without a doubt, new and refreshing in both setting and story. Do not let the fact that this webcomic is black and white deter you, it has some fancy surprises up its sleeve. While the genre's include romance, I'll be up front and share that there has been little of that so far.
Since the Manga Updates and Manta "Summary" are lacking, I'll drop my own here. It has mild first ~5 chapter spoilers in it, so be wary:
"A group of mercenaries are hunting for a legendary treasure: A bit of literal color in this bleak, apocalypse torn world. After fighting through wastelands and dangerous Canibaloid's -- Monstrous, zombie like vestiges of human emotion -- they find that this treasure isn't simply a what, but a who.
After cleverly escaping the group of mercenaries, Nine and Aida -- the Treasure and his guardian -- start their quest to restore Nine's lost memories. Will our hero's simply learn more about Nines past, or will they discover something more about this mysterious world?"
You Might Also Like: If you have a Manta subscription and you're not just there for the romance, you HAVE to check this one out!!! I'm not even gonna recommend anything else until someone else reads this.
