this manga was serialized at shonen jump? i've read 2 volumes and i thought it was from a kodomo magazine with the round character designs and all...anyway i was taken by surprise because this was much better than i thought it would be....the sense of humour appeals to me a lot...the humour is silly and random...it did make me laugh...I really enjoyed the artwork...you can clearly see the effort that toriyama akira put in drawing it...the backgrounds are beautifully detailed in some panels...

this is quite a long while since i read this manga, but i remember that i read it with gusto, it is quite immersive experience and funny to boot. i was not even fazed by the scat comedy abounded in the manga, and i think arale is very cool. i always hated dragon ball since i was little, i remember i thought it was 'pointless' and 'directionless' with everyone getting stronger and stronger, but dr slump is even more pointless and directionless but i still find it funny, it is quite a shock to me now. ah well, i might just like scat comedy.
It's cute, but al usual Mr. Toriyama includes his perverted light humour scenes.. It's very cute.
