After a long time this story has now ended, Kwel and Hi Wa Mata Noboru did a great work with this series, now i don't know what to write here to convince you about the awesomeness of this manga, except that from beginning to end this only keeps getting better and better, it covers so many themes and in such a splendid way, that probably the only complain that anyone could ever have is that this was not longer, and yet it never feels rushed, it says what it needs to say, and the feelings are conveyed perfectly, even the villain gets to convince you with his philosophy at some point, probably all the way to the last volumes.
A wonderful world, full of life, both its characters and environment are incredible, some people have disregarded the art as bad, is clear that people are blind, this has one of the most impacting scenery of nature to have been ever drawn, and the fighting scenes are amazing, and the emotions both happy and sad were conveyed in mesmerizing ways, is this always the case? no, if you are familiar with the author you will know that his works also have some goofy moments that allow you some rest, this mange will make you cry and laugh, and then feel good and bad, but over all you will be satisfied.
As of now April 28 - 2014 this is the only updated review in this site of someone who has read the complete manga, and i can say without sounding pretentious that all the other reviews are in dire need of an update, some even think that Tarouza never grows, others just started and then felt like sharing their surprise and just leave it at that, others are dated between the initial rough start of the manga on its translation and subsequent hiatus, and then the sudden batch release of volumes, and finally you have me.
Even the tags themselves are misleading, Tanukis, Babies? yes it has those, and they are the main part of the beginning of this manga, but he obviously grows into an adult, and as you may know by reading the tittle this is called Animal Kingdom, so yeah this is way more than Tanukis.
