Beautiful art.

The first story was kind of bland relative to the remaining two stories. I think my favorite was the second story about people having their own personal fish that swims around when they sleep. As for the art, sometimes the proportions on the bodies are really off.. but otherwise they have a really beautiful drawing style. The amount of detail put into the settings was amazing. The beautiful and detailed artwork kind of makes up for the lack of complexity in the stories, but then it also just felt like flipping through an art-book rather than reading a masterpiece. It's almost a waste of their talent to illustrate such short/simple stories.. In any case, I really enjoyed reading this.

Amazing Stories With Depth

It was impressive how much depth was given to these stories in such few pages. The characterization, relationships and setting were all conveyed beautifully with such sweet and gentle emotions. The art work was also really beautiful and greatly complimented the story Aoi weaved. While I would love to read more of each story, these little glimpses into the characters' lives was extremely satisfying and charming. I definitely recommend this; it's well worth reading.

Gentle and Calm

This was a very nice read. Its a calm manga that just flows naturally and leaves you with a warm feeling. I think its different from many BL manga, since it is so gentle and leaves out the drama, crying, weak characters and misunderstandings that BL deals with much too often. The art is also very nice. I can recommend this one without reservation.

One of a kind

Wow I'm literally lost for words right now. This is probably one of the most artistic manga I've ever read, in the sense of actual arts being laid bare in front of the readers. Each panel, each image, each dialogue and interaction, they all make sense without any redundancy and oddity mixed in. Everything "melts" together like a harmonic symphony in which each little piece exists for a reason while complimenting its other components as a whole. Each story truly feels like a masterpiece being handled in a most authentic and genuine way despite their mythical themes. The philosophies hidden between the lines are like a bonus to supplement the stories themselves. The art also helps contribute in deciding the general mood surrounding the atmosphere, appropriately so as well. I could read the whole manga over and over again just for the sake of appreciating all that the mangaka has presented in a single volume. Not to mention the time and effort I can imagine she had poured her heart and soul into through research so as to come up with such bona fide and earnest tales while still staying true to their surreal and mysterious nature.

It was just lovely. The only reason I'm rating it a 9 instead of a 10 was that I wanted more! The concepts of each story were just unusual and sweet and beautiful. Makes me want to paint fishes and foxes. =)

Beautiful art, story, everything... The surroundings OMG they blowed my mind smile

However there's something bothering me a little:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The girl that appears on the 4th chapter, is like if she's gonna mess with their happiness, but nothing else happends and WUP! Hello, we now have another story on chapter 5 XD

That aside bigrazz awesome! I would like to see some actual yaoi from this mangaka, but for now this is just magnificent

earthy/mythical

Others have said before me, but this manga is distinct of others. In every pannel there is earthy impression left. At some point in the first story I actually felt it remended me of Naussica!!! And I believe that's one of the highest praises one can get! 'Cause that means, that only for just a second, I actually felt/believed in the bond between all living things.

The reason why I won't give a higher rating is because I missed I little bit more of development in the first story.

And having the last chapter being about a girl that felt 'sad' about their relationship wasn't that great either... It left a bitter aftertaste for me... Especially because that's the only time in the whole manga where we actually hear the inner thoughts of a female character.

Anyway, still would recomend this one smile

Breathtaking!

What can I say? Like others before me, I also think everything about this manga is beautiful. The stories are about simple, earthly relationships, very real ones at that (Save for the one with the fox spirit, but even that one is beautiful). The first story is filled with wonderfully intricate backgrounds, panels, and details, which is a breath of fresh air from my usual fare.

Tsumasaki ni Kourozu is definitely going to be a title I will come back to time and time again, and I'm definitely going to keep watch for new works by Aoi Aki sensei.

it's been so long that i read this kind of manga.
it doesn't have things that are hot or lewd but it strikes directly to my heart.
i cannot say anything other than...... BEAUTIFUL!
>.<
the art is quite simple actually, but the background is stunning and successful at creating the ethereal-and-melancholy atmosphere.
i like it so much...no, i love it!!
and the story...oh God, it's so nice. although it's a bit cliche (teacher-student or school friends relationship), but it has something different. i can't say clearly, just think it as the feelings. the story strikes beautifully.
i like it more than the yaoi manga that shows too much smut or lewd scenes.

This story is just too AWESOME. I love how Aoi Aki Sensei brought upon a beautiful relationship in such a beautiful environment. I love the use of the theme and it's drawn so beautifully. The panels and the earth lifeforms that connects from panels to panels that blooms and express the love between the two main protagonist, I'm so moved. So incredibly moved. I'm so very happy I came upon this manga and mangaka. I know not many would not feel this way however, I certainly did.
I support you, Aoi Aki Sensei! Stay healthy! biggrin
