Description

Read it 3 timea already in my tween years. Also checked out the live adaptation but didn't meet my expectation.

I read this thinking "i wish i could understand my mom more haha"

Main characters are so annoying that I can't stand it. Every chapter Chiwa would always be annoying and childish in every way. She would complain in every small things. Even Hokuto is so controlling at first. Plot is so cliché.

Brings back memories

Remember reading this while I was in school. And and I still enjoy this series. The girl is a bit Cliché and makes mistakes when it comes to her husband and even sometimes the husbands in the wrong but she becomes a better character and makes amends. There’s a lot of flaws in the story but to me not everything’s gonna be perfect. The only thing I had an issue with was her husband’s pass when it came to his mother. They made a live action of this and I believe that that was executed better. However the story was worse than this. But I still enjoy the series.

I have a couple acquaintances that are just like her, and it gets so annoying to hear about their troubled love lives because it is SO COMPLETELY SELF-INFLICTED. She's an adult, yet for the life of her can't figure out a finalized decision nor be an effective communicator. This character never gets better either, so.... no thanks.

Also, using sexual assault to spice up a story isn't original; it's cheap as heck. And that is just one of the many points of horrible writing.. The glorification/glossing over rape isn't cool, author-san. Never was, hopefully never will be.

So...I have a lot of opinions. First off she's the character that can't come to terms with someone liking them. She's more concerned with meddling in her husband's family than her own relationship with her own husband or her own family. She wants to run off with any other dude that looks her way. I can't handle such a busybody character. I suppose it's not too unreasonable for her to doubt that someone would like her since she's and insufferable brat. I usually love when the male protagonist goes for the more annoying female as opposed to the shy submissive female as I self identify with a more boisterous and laid back attitude but this chick was the worst. The guy was crappy at first but at least he had character development. She always regressed back to temper tantrums. The potential for phenomenal makeup sex scenes were squandered. This was dragged on way too long

Funny, and full of charm

I actually find his quite fun with the story and funniest of the characters. I really enjoy the author, the problems between the characters and the story of the issue of being marriage. Their definitely is shojo tropes but it made it fun. The ending was a bit rush with the main characters mother issue but everything was a fun ride.

It's a manga i started reading without many expectations bc I somehow know what kind of mangas Enjouji Maki draws. I agree with many of you that there was way too much unnecessary fighting. But it was not a reason for me to stop reading bc everytime they did fight the characters developed a little.
This was a fun and not-serious-taken read 😛 .

At first it was funny stupid shoujo with banal plot twists (including multiple faints and even kidnapping) but then it got worse. It has rape, yes! YES! Every time they have sex male character hurts Chiwa (main female character) and never stops, he even

violently rape her being drunk - Jee, i'm so mad! Also, he controls her, follows her, telling her that things like "you are mine", "you belong to me" etc etc which is typical abusive behavior, she depends on him 'cause this is prearranged marriage and it makes it even worse. Even though, abusive male characters are typical for manga (not that i like it, this is just how it is) but RAPE shown as love is just UNBELIEVABLE, I hate it.

Do not recommend.

This is the first time Ive read a manga where every chapter the couple is fighting.
They shoot their mouths off with hateful words without talking it out first..
This couple lack COMMUNICATION....
The manga has sweet and endearing scenes but most of the time they are bickering...
Also as much as I like the Hokuto's hot body, why do I find the Chiwa's face displeasing whenever they have sex... She always looks in pain and I don't find it erotic like really..

I only like the first few chapters but became a chore to read in the middle...
But the ending was not so bad...

I love this series more than I should tbh.

This is a fun non-serious read. Tropes and cliche's galore, but somehow they work for the manga and not against it (ymmv.) It is a very classic story poor/naive girl gets married to a rich jerk.

I disagree with it not being categorized as Josei though. It might not have the seriousness of many Josei but it is aimed a grown women. I see it like chick lit. If you want a deep meaningful & super mature story this isn't it.
