Description
At Matabi Academy, students are allowed to bring their pet cats to the dorms. For Yumi Hayakawa, whose favorite hobby is making clothes for her kitty Kansuke, Matabi seems like a sure bet. After all, nothing can possibly go wrong with her best friend at her side! But on the first day of school, the two find themselves face-to-face with a murderous demonic minion on campus! Will Yumi and Kansuke be able to defend themselves and their school against an ancient cat demon’s thirst for vengeance?

This is shounen. Not shoujo. My goodness. There isn't a romance tag. Get over it.
Anyway....
This was a great series beginning to end. I bought all five volumes of it; Yen Press did a fine job in translating and releasing this wonderful series. This was another brilliant work of Iwahara, and I always enjoy all of his work, this one being no different. The art is captivating; the story is original and unique. I love how his series are short, yet he is able to complete all of them brilliantly and tie loose ends in a nice and clean manner.
I can't wait for whatever comes out next from him. :]

I kind of want to agree with MachineMaiden and hope some sort of romance happens between them but I don't think so. At the same time, the cover leads me to believe that his transformations become more human like so maybe.
I don't really see the manga as being a romance though, at least not what would be standard. The only relationship I can see developing is the sickening type you see with those really obsessed pet owners (dog shows anyone?).

Man, I dunno if it's because of reading to much shoujo but I can see a relationship blooming between Yumi and Kansuke ...but erm would that be beastiality? He's so cute though! Most likely won't happen but it makes me swoon a bit how he wants to protect her! I can't wait for future chapters and hey, maybe what I'm hoping for might come true! <3 Kansuke x Yumi love forever!
