I love this manga, it has great art, a nice fantasy historical setting and an interesting plot.
Nina, an orphan, is abducted in order to impersonate the late princess of her country. She builds an emotional connection with the prince of Fortna, Az, who is also a soul who feels like he has no place in the world. However, their king agrees to give Nina's hand in marriage to the prince of an enemy country. In order to save the boy she loves, Nina decides to write her own destiny and agrees to the political union. Upon arriving at the neighbouring kingdom, Galgada, Nina learns that prince Sett has no intention to marry her, in fact, he uses the brides sent to him as political tools in order to find excuses to attack their homelands. Galgada is a warrior nation and Sett is a person who experinced so much trauma at a young age that he completely closed off his heart in order to protect himself.
Now, I saw people complaining about the love triangle. And honestly this is one of the rare cases when it makes sense. Nina develops feelings for Az but she leaves those emotions behind when she goes to Galgada. There, she forms a special and deep relationship with Sett, thinking she would never see Az again. She is a teenager who later gets confused when Az returns to her life, after all he was the first person she ever liked. But at the same time Sett is always on her mind, and their relationship is more complex, it's honestly pretty obvious from early on that Nina's feelings for Sett are more mature and romantic and they have a shared and special understanding between them. Let's not forget that Sett and Nina meet as political enemies- Sett's behaviour shouldn't be justified but he doesn't enjoy being cruel, he's actually indifferent about everything and follows his orders as a prince whose task is to conquer other nations.
The manga also has an interesting lore about gods and special powers, I personally find the fantasy setting very entertaining. Nina is a headstrong character who is flawed, but she grows a lot as a person. Az also learns to take himself into account because he always accepted that he would die at a young age. Sett slowly opens his heart to happiness and acknowledges that Nina cannot be his whole world. And the side characters are also great.
This manga has a lot of heart, please give it a chance.
