If you prefer yaoi, just stay with that then. Nothing wrong with females having a voluptuous bodies. It's weirdly hypocritical to slam shounen and seinen manhua's for the body types or tropes as if yaoi doesn't have it's failing too. FFS, comments bashing these types of things are what spoils any enjoyment. 🙄

Leave the bias over there in the genres you already comfortable with.

My standards are below sea level for shonen/seinen Chinese manhua that's not yaoi. I only have 3 criterias for what me, myself and I consider "good" and a solid 6/10:

1.) Cannot be harem/Why Choose.

So far, 80 chapters in, it's not a Why Choose! Huzzah! It miiiight (probably) become a Why Choose multiple wives setting in the future and the women are perilously close to becoming sister-wives at this point but so far it's not there YET. THANKFULLY.

Chapter 148 now - still NO sister-wives! I am in shock.

2.) The women are not window dressing, existing as just grotesquely shaped tits and asses with zero agency.

The women here generally have more than 2 brain cells to rub together. Amazing. They're already forgetting their original, flimsy reason for entering the story but at least they had one? (JFC, I can't believe I'm so happy to read that there's at least this miniscule amount of consideration given to female character's motivations.)

3.) The male MC must have good looking male friends in his age range. AND THEY ARE IMPORTANT.

I am shooketh. The author-artist isn't afraid to give this MC good looking male friends?! They're not all wrinkly old men or little kids? Also, they are powerful and help advance the plotline? Wait, they aren't just there to be two-faced and jealous and betray the MC?!

And they're not beautiful women in disguise? Wut?

Yep. Amazing manhua.

EDIT: One of the important side characters has a

black cat as tracker . I'm sold. Men with ! cats, especially a black cat , are sexy as hell.

Upped rating from 6 to 8/10.

A mix of various genres, it's surprisingly not bad, usually stories that mix a returner, cultivation, magical powers, martial arts, technology, sci-fi and VR, oh, and obviously, a system, of course, well it's a mash up that I wouldn't touch if I had known it beforehand, and this is manhua! to be honest, I'm very surprised the author and artist make this work.

I'll skip the story, I'll just say that part of the reason it works is because the MC moves between types of worlds. The VR part is fortunately skipped (I won't spoil it but there is a logic to it) and while the logic is pretty flawed, the omniscient AI part is resolver rather quickly and is founded on Asimov's works in more than one way, always good to see Asimov's genius' influence. So story, is quite interesting, not because it's roots, that's the classic outers or demons or something like that invading earth, but because of scope and how well the different parts are woven. Weirdly enough, the different plots aren't as skillfully done, so while the overarching story pulls me in some small arcs are not as interesting or well done.
MC is interesting, he's a bit too omniscient and with an endless memory, as often, but he kills when he needs to, puts limits but isn't a psychopath, too arrogant annoying, another manhua classic. There is a cast of secondary characters and 2 potential FL so far, all decently done and a few actually quite interesting.
Other than that, art is good, pace is good, has some romance but not much, little comedy and the world-building is good too.

Overall, it's what I call a good popcorn manga/hwa/hua, nothing great but I think it's rather good and entertaining and worth a try at least for those into cultivation, systems and that are ok with manhua.

It's fine, but going nowhere

There is already enough plot to make a decent series but the last arks are mostly milking the series. The series is overreaching itself and almost everything ultimately depends on the MC's decisions so most things we aren't inmediately seeing are in stasis until the MC/author renembers them.

After the MC can freely travel between worlds most arks are just an ass pull anything to force a plot suspiciously similar to other popular stories and stall the story.

Masterful mash-up of cultivation, magic, technology, and everything else

The novel of this manhua is an absolute ride. Cultivators, magic users, and multiple sci-fi types all fight each other, and it somehow works. Plots and subplots overlap with each other, and the MC has to use his intellect and skills to uncover them and thread the needle to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, the side characters aren't left behind, and many have their own MC-like adventures. However, the manhua isn't at that point yet. The art is amazing, but the plot starts off slow.

MC's character design carries the series

Just like any other generic cultivation novel/manhua, World's Apocalypse Online too is riddled with the same cliche tropes like jade beauties falling in love with the MC in a drop of a hat, young masters with hair-trigger temper who take offense for the slightest of slights, lack of memorable side characters, and a Gary Stu MC.

The Worldbuilding is interesting enough but as is the case with cultivation manhua(s), no significant progress is gonna be made in unearthing the mystery behind the war god system, the existence of World Apocalypse Online, the premieval existence sealed inside the pillar, and the fall of the gods for like 100s of chapters.

That being said, the MC's character design is badass af (makes him look like a more handsome Eren from AoT) and I'm not ashamed to admit that his character design is the only reason I tolerated this manhua for as long as I did.
