Description

Gajang Noh is a strong, dedicated, and humble man, with much respect for the martial arts. After the death of his lovely wife, this muscle-for-hire just wants an easy job that allows him to be a good father to his three little babies. He's even happy to pull guard duty and fend off amateur fighters if it means he can return home safely each night. Loved it before I was a dad, REALLY love it as a dad.

I know another reviewer said they couldn't get into it because they have no desire to have kids, but even before I had a kid, I found fatherly love an empathizing factor. I assume many of us have had fathers who loved us, and therefore would be able to see a little bit of our dad in Noh (the author even named Noh after his dad, apparently).

Really enjoy the story. Red Storm got a little....gamey the longer it went on, but so far Peerless Dad avoids the same problems. The simplistic nature of the MC here keeps the story from becoming too incomprehensible (or if it does, he's just as confused as we are). I also enjoyed that the MC had a unique focus for his specialty/power/whatever you want to call it (ultra durability, which is usually just either implied via shonen armor, or ignored completely for something else). After all, if there's anything a dad needs...it's ultra durability.

It's not just the emotional parts of the story and the characters, the fighting is great as well. Definitely one of the best Wuxia-style stories out there.

A story of understanding.

You do not need to be a parent to enjoy this series, you just need a little empathy.

This is a story that will make you feel empathy or at the very least, make you feel empathetic for a little bit. It will find its way to you regardless if you are a parent, or a child. It is not important if the stories first main hook hits you like it hits someone else, you may feel sad or angry. And it is a slow burn. You will hate some characters, and love others as they grow past their initial introductions. The failings of many webstories, and manga tend to have week character writing. But not here.

With the main character Warrior Noh, is introduced as the every day mercenary and soon to be father. His personal greed of youth and love slowly vanish as his life of taking care of his children. He is a man who lost the love of his life, but gained three children to nurture, to protect. When he has to leave them for long periods of time the author, and the artist, make sure to show you just how much it hurts both parent and child to be separate for so long. As one of the main arcs of the series is Noh being away from his children for what seems like a year.

His children, and their mentors, have amazing writing. They are all pure, but still have aspects of their father, greed, laziness, or his intelligence. Yet they also have their own personalities and goals. Not just to be like their father, but to become people who are dependable.

There is much to this story, but the driving characters are Warrior Noh, and his children. The arcs of this story make sure to cement in your mind that there is no status quo for this comic. It changes and evolves due to the great character writing from the author. And the artists work is phenomenal, his understanding of emotion, anatomy and when to draw unorthodox is amazing.

A great story if you have the slightest bit of empathy in your body!

For me, this was a total miss. I guess it was my own fault, that's why I'll just leave it with an average score of 5/10. I shouldn't have even started reading this since I'm not in the target demographic, although I did so on the off-chance that it was going to be nice even for me.

This is a story about this guy raising children and whatever, his wife died when giving birth to triplets. Then there's all those supposed feels that are supposed to come and the feelings we should have for the mc himself. Sadly, I can't understand those feelings and I have no desire to do so either. I never want to be a father, it was never one of my life goals and I have made that choice myself, I also don't like children unless they're unrealistic anime/manga/novel children that are way too cute to be true, often acting more mature than adults. Thus I can never get the feelings a father would have when something like this happens, I can't relate on any level and I feel absolutely nothing when things happens.

I can understand and see how this would be a nice story for a lot of people, very immersive and good, but for it to be even readable, you need to AT LEAST have some will to get kids someday, to become a father. All these father-oriented works are really not aimed at me, so I don't know why I bother... I guess it's because I'm hoping to find a version that is acceptable and awesome to me. I have done so before, but it's rare. I guess the truly realistic stuff is what I should avoid, it's just hard to know beforehand.
