It's a shame the translator is so slow and unreliable, but unfortunately at their current pace, this will get dropped again before they ever catch up to the current releases. What's the point? You don't even do 10 chapters a year even when you're active. No one is going to give you donations for such little work after seeing your track record with your projects. Why bother?

The food and focus on the history of the Warring States Period and times under Noda Nobunaga are great. However, the isekai-ness (not another world, but another time, yet the same feel) MC’s backstory go by painfully slowly. It took about 50 chapters just to see a major detail about his past. It feels like the isekai part is an afterthought, which makes it feel like it shouldn’t be there at all. Having so little that is slowly and poorly written in is worse than having it as a focus entirely and lessens my enjoyment of the manga.

Really worth a read, if only it was scanlated fully.

I'm surprised this is not based on a novel to be honest, it's not common to see standalone manga with this quality of narrative and storytelling, superb job by the author. There is an attention to detail on every front and how well the author melds history, cooking and storytelling which is simply great.
The history is as far as I can tell accurate (I have a shallow knowledge and a bad memory) and is told with interesting narrative.
The characters feel both human and majestic, Nobunaga in particular gives that sense of visionary, fair and ruthless all in a package giving way to the several faces that the character has taken in history.
The cooking is interesting too but kept moderate, it takes a nice chunk of the story but never being completely in the first plane, Ken's dishes tip the balance in negotiations and so on but almost always as a part of a scheme by Nobunaga, this is specially interesting because it presents the idea that maybe Ken's actions don't change the future but are a part of it while at the same time giving place to the option that Nobunaga just adapts his scheme based on his present tools, without Ken he would just succeed in some other way, either is interesting and still hasn't been made clear.
And last, the portrayal of the era is very well done, the accepted obsequience of the citizens, the position of women, the socio-political situation of the warring state period and the insertion of the Nanben and Ming culture and products.
All is very well done and the art is quite good too, nothing breath taking but solid, simple to understand and follow and simply looks good. Can't recommend this enough for anyone, specially if they are a fan of historical novels.

I also really enjoy the portrayal of Oda Nobunaga--the manga humanizes the guy while also recognizing the facts. All the characters are super interesting, and the integration of history and modern food is flawlessly done.

Cooking manga usually falls into a pithole of repetitive battles in order to demonstrate how good the protagonist is. This manga combines the richness of history of Oda Nobunga (I now want to learn so much holy dang), along with the really great cooking aspect. In all honesty, Nobunga's charisma and purpose really comes off. The time travel part is bunched in nicely; Ken is a very likeable protagonist, and discovering the answers behind his amnesia and who he was helps out a lot.

Plot wrapped well, there's a lot of mistery I don't know yet, basically because the protagonist himself didn't remember who is he. There's sweet romance flowing naturally (and I love it). The art make me fall into this series at first glance. I love how the author bring me to understand all protagonist feeling and thinking, because I can relate and know more about Nobunaga from his view. It's a good historical culinary manga.

I love time travel manga like this. I love the challenges the protagonist has to face when being a chef in this time period. You get to learn many ways to cook food when ingredients are made from scratch. The author must have knowledge about cooking to do this manga. He must have done some extensive research to learn how certain ingredients are made from scratch and when ingredients were introduced to Japan.

The cons for this manga is that it's hard to distinguish some of the characters shown because a few of them look the same. Another is the terms used from the Japanese language.You need to know what some of the words mean to really understand about the manga. It can be quite confusing too when you try to match the names of the characters to their faces when they are mentioned because there are so many characters in the manga.

Overall it's quite good. I was surprised with so many cons I typed for the manga because it's still good with all the negative comments I mentioned. If you like time traveling mangas like this, you will like another manga called "Jin" where instead of a chef time slipping, it's a doctor.

The plot is enough to make you read this and then the way it is presented is more than enough to make you want more. An amazing example of a historical manga infused with culinary cool.

I have to admit, this is one of the best culinary manga I've read, and I've read many. The art is clean, the story interesting but not too complicated so that it interrupts the food aspect, and furthermore the food looks delicious and sounds plausible to make. Great, very great, series.
