So in the story, the MC is a man who previously lived as a monk and mastered an art that allows him to reincarnate with his memories in his next life, granting him a form of very limited immortality, yet at the cost of his fertility (he can't have kids).
So as a seemingly smart and good-natured man seeking true symbiosis with the people around him, in his 3rd reincarnation (when the story takes place), the MC basically has ZERO interest in women (since he can't give 'em any kids), instead being absorbed by developing his potential without the hassles of a gf.
For example:
"12th knew that it was not a good idea to comfort a girl when they were about to cry, because they will only cry harder. He turned around and left."
... All I can say is: WOW.
So it is very fun to see a story where, FOR ONCE, you have a somewhat realistic and interesting portrayal of what a person might become if they really mastered themselves and lived 2 full lives - at that point, as a young man reborn, the MC should indeed be far better able than most to see through the games women tend to play (and offer), and especially to see through the tricks of the human libido (and how to master it completely, to no longer be subconsciously driven by it).
So just based on that, it is quite a bit of fun. The world building is fairly strange and original as well, so I am enjoying it quite a bit.
That being said, I think the author spends way too much time having the MC haggle with merchants, and also goes a bit too far with his social min/max'ing, like especially when he becomes rich from speculating on food stuff during war-time. That is generally the kind of stuff that will get you widely hated by all the people who are starving while you get rich off of the details, ya know?
