Different from the Author's Other Works (In a Good Way)

I've only fully completed one other manga by this author, but I have skimmed her other works and wasn't really captivated by any of them. This one-shot is different from this author's other works (though I think its just as polarizing...)

I found this to be a more mature and realistic take on love and its bittersweet qualities than Minami Kanan's other manga. It does still have the same feeling as her other works, but I think the short length of this one-shot allowed Minami Kanan's strength of delving into the characters' emotional states and their thought processes to really shine and this didn't have the sexually harrasing tsundere male lead and the repetitive and trope-following storylines that often turn me off from the other stories I've read by her.

Though this have a really unhappy ending, I thought it was pretty well done. The fact that it can make me this depressing means that the author is good in expressing what she wanna make us feel. That sentimental. I've learnt that you just have to express what you really feel before it's too late.

I generally expect her romances to include some level of bullying/teasing from a tsundere character followed by light sexual harassment, but never such a subtle, sweet, relatable and realistic story. It's not your average romance and there isnt much doki doki, but there is a lot of sincerity in the oneshot.

I've read works from this author before, and was more or less happy with the ending/overall experience. It seem like more of the same until the final pages. The ending really killed it for me. It made me upset in more or less words... A few months has passed since I've read this and it still makes my blood boil. I guess the feeling is still lingering.
Unless you're prepared for an unhappy ending, just pass.

It was a dissapointment.. It was to be a 9 in my ratings but made a sudden turn for the worst in the last pages! It WASN'T a tragedy but it was really annoying.. If it wasn't for the first part, general story/setting and artwork I'd really give it a 3 for the end. It could be so much better!!!!!!!!!!

Why the heck didn't they end up together?!! She didn't do anything wrong! Got jealous for just 1 day she did, but gathered her courage and confessed! GRrrrr~ Did he really like her too? Is he kidding us?!
