3 Volumes (Ongoing)

I think it’s clear by chapter 20-ish what the thread that connects Nakama and some of the characters is. It’s not subtle, kinda told outright for Nakama at one point, still a bit of a mystery for the MCs even by chapter 40. There is also quite a bit of exposition in this manga, with a crucial piece to understanding the characters and the story conviniently explained by a side character, lol.
This manga had a great build but its pacing got a little wonky when it introduced the first “twist.” It’s still a pretty fun read and the mystery of what’s going on is still alive after — we’re still moving forward with the story even if the pacing could have been tighter. I enjoyed the literary and poetic references a lot. It really adds to the atmosphere and storytelling.
Might come back and add more. I am curious about the ending enough to look up spoilers.
A true horror manga with bone-chilling psychological aspect. Somehow the ghost isn’t the scary one here but supposedly ordinary people like Kanoko and Hijiri.
this is one of those mangas that completely changes your life, every chapter and reference is just full of thought and care. it's like I'm stuck in a wooden ship in the worst storm of my naval career. every character makes me just want to reach in and take them away. it's one of those situations where everyone is being led to the worst corners of the world because they can't just look away. nakama and kanako are both very interesting characters and while i anticipate the worst, I'm dropping the manga since the writing can get really intense and triggering for people who were like kanako (me), so uhh caution to new readers for that ig.
