Description

Am I the only one that feels like the author changed at some point. I feel it happen at Season 4. It went from a competent, slightly edgy (for a Romance book) story with a dark emotionally turmoiled Male Lead with a simple cliched plot to a sappy, smutty (with no smut) romance book with no plot .. just .. smushy-ness.

I really feel like the celebration march arc and the running away arc had a completely different feel to the Princess arc. Its like the female and male lead changed into completely different people. I would re-read the first 3 Season again. I don't think I would ever read the 4 again, thought there was scenes and events in it that were okay, it was a struggle to get through it the first time and none of those scenes were as good as the start of the book.

Also, season 4 felt really dragged out. Like the author was just trying to bleed the book for as much as they could.

Ranting, Season 1-3: 10/10 - I was really enjoying this part of the book, couldn't put it down. (The Male Lead eye candy helped a lot with that.

Ranting, Season 4: 6/10

Average: 8/10

PS: the Villains in this book were super sad and pathetic. It felt like they just gave up on them at some point. It felt odd and unnatural for the book.

I would love a spin-off book about just Clara and Rio's relationship. Even though Rio is super creepy at the start of the book, I feel a book about their growing relationship could be hilarious and sweet if done right.

The art is gorgeous, there are a lot of funny moments of outsiders misunderstanding, and so much fan service. Seriously if there's an excuse for the ML to take his shirt off, or get wet, or have a BL moment with another knight it's there. I enjoyed it up to like chapter 40, but suddenly in the second season chapter 70 the ML suddenly changes his behavior and it's a bit jarring. Also it feels like the art drops off a little so I stopped around there even though there's more

It's unrealistic. But that's why we're reading about princesses in a made up kingdom? Like I guess I'm a little curious about how this slave is eating and sleeping and not getting sunburn, but like most readers I don't really care because it's not plot relevant. FL is going to forgive a lot because she's not in a position of power and she's making the best out of it. I guess I don't really get the complaints

ML is not sweet or warm. If you want a cinnamon roll go somewhere else. He's busy with other stuff. I find this kind of protagonist more realistic than a man in power somehow becoming a goo ball over something as trivial as a girl. Like if these guys are that powerful, I just don't see them prioritizing a relationship over running their army or whatever. Like the ML cares, but he's going to misunderstand and miscommunicate a lot because it's not like he has the time to figure out an underlings feelings, or really any habit or prior need to.

There's barely any Isekai or Slave stuff, I think they were just trying to hit a few more tags on

The art is one of the most beautiful out of all the manga and manhwa I am reading. Seriously gorgeous. But while the plot is fine and the pacing is good, the characters are questionable at best and downright despicable at worst. The male lead is the biggest problem here. It is the usual typical formula used by creators, in making cruel male lead likable and swoon-worthy: give him a tragic back story and make him handsome, with rippling muscles. It works most of the times but there ought to be limit somewhere. And this story does cross the line,

because the male lead literally kills the female lead's step sister in front of her. But what makes it worse is how easily the female lead starts to accept the male lead as a misunderstood person after working as a slave for him for a short duration, because she hears all the other servants and soldiers talking highly about the man. Girl, it is one thing if you only hear about his cruelty. But you literally saw him kill your sister with your own eyes. It should not matter what others say about him when the evidence is right in front of you. Good grief.

stopped reading early in because this story is not what it says it is. no gritty overcoming hardships and abuse or anything like that, this is just generic shoujo with setting as fondant. this could be a high school manga and nothing would change. disappointing.

Read it for cute FL

FL is a cinnabun that need to be protecccc. She's so cute and fluffy, and someone you want to pat. She's the Holy Mother white lotus slightly stupid type, so if you don't like these kind of cotton candy characters this manga will not work for you at all since it basically revolved around her.

ML is also the stereotypical misunderstood badboy ( virgin but hot) type. FL is quite forgiving but while he's certainly a good warlord he's not a good person at all, and if you cannot get past this huge character defect you might want to skip this novel. I'm ok with it as being a killer is a prerequisite in being a feudal lord. For me him not killing FL is a defect on his role as a warlord.

The plot is not much, just the shenanigans in FL trying to stay hidden and MLs father want to stop his son from being gay, and copious amount of MLs pecs and abs as eye candy.

The storyline is pretty generic these days with unbelievable characters, but the art is absolutely gorgeous. It's just so gorgeous that it makes it worth reading every month even though we all know what's going to happen. Also the Isekai aspect was completely unnecessary and seemed like an extra genre add-on😕 It would've been much more interesting if they built a character without the isekai background.

Art good, story is crap. Female lead is so spinless she could be a jelly fish. The only thing that even makes her relevant to the story is medical knowledge she learned in a previous life. The ML orders her killed upon first meeting because he had just finished conquering her country and wanted the princesses dead so as to be no issues in the future. Ok now had he changed his mind for a good reason maybe he would be seen as redemable. But the only reason she wasn't killed was because a subordinate said she could maybe be used as leverage in the future. Once she was found to be basically worthless as a bargaining chip she's becomes a slave. uh-huh How the hell is a relationship supposed to develop after that. I'm sorry, if someone orders my death in front of me (he even threatened to kill her on a separate unrelated issue) imma have a real hard time not seeing him as a monster no matter what circumstances arises in the future. Also,side characters, almost all of them treat slaves as crap. Every little offense gets the FL locked up or almost beaten for some dumb reason. So weak FL ahole ML and sorry a side characters. So yeah it's crap. Read at your own risk.
