Surprisingly Dark, but With a Good Ending

At the beginning, I just expected a sweet, silly BL. I knew that wouldn't be the case as soon as Christopher threatened to cut Yuu's finger off

I know that sounds bad, but trust me the situation gets resolved and it definitely isn't a case of one of those "abuse rape turns into love" yaoi's. Christopher is a very troubled character which a traumatic past, including opium addiction as an infant, sexual abuse / child prostitution, and spending practically his whole life in a mental institution. The whole situation is dealt with pretty seriously, and it doesn't attempt to downplay Chrisopher's obsessive behavior, nor does it glamorize his drug use, nor does it marginalize the abuse (either against Chrisopher by the pedo women who would buy his services, or agaisnt Yuu by the man who taught him to write) like a lot of manga does

Overall, I would say it's a pretty deep story and it has a very rewarding ending

Interesting – The One shot is Adorables

The main story is really interesting and I like the vibes that it’s going for. And, honestly, there were some really beautiful pages in this story. It’s also interesting to see the reference being made to the usage of opium, in order to lend greater depth to this story, however this isn’t followed through properly and so the story falls on its face.
For me the one shot was much more thoughtful than the main story. Maybe Hino-sensei should stick to more romantic plot lines as the one shot just brought a smile to my face and the conversations were more meaningful.

...at all!!! What I'm talking about is the ending. Well, more like at the climax of the story. I was kinda surprised and didn't expect myself to be in a roller-coaster ride when I picked up this manga. Thought it's some fluffy manga but it was actually kinda dark. But I love the ending and I'm happy that Yuu waited for Chris.

I thought the story was going to be the cliched guy with a dark past meets another guy, bang him and overcomes his "trauma" but props to hino sensei for making it a much darker, gripping and ultimately more interesting story.

This storyline was strange, I thought it was going to be comedic in the beginning but then it got kind of dark and then a little confusing and unpredictable and then yeahh... Weirdish.

It's been awhile since I came across a decent psychological work, so I have to give huge credits to the author for this manga's sort-of-unique plot. Yes it's confusing at first especially when no answer was given to justify for the characters' actions, but the revelation is certainly worth the wait. I like the fact that there's no definite ending to the story and the readers are left to interpret it on their own, because that suits the manga's ambiguous spirit so well. The sense of hope lingering after the read is also a nice touch.

The one-shot is also very cute, and surprisingly insightful. The conversation between the cats is definitely spot-on, revealing that the mangaka must really love cats and understand them well. Her drawings of them are deadly adorable, and imo she and Ogura Muku are among the best illustrators out there when it comes to drawing cats.
