This was a pretty interesting read. You can see some overlap between the reactions shown by those affected by the plague with the ones you see on the news about Covid-19. I really liked that the author showed multiple perspectives on the plague, from those working to save lives, to the ones dying from it, and even from the perspective of those who lost their loved ones.
For me, the one I found too scarily close to reality is the depiction of how those from the affected area became stigmatised and had to suffer for something they never asked for. This was written in 2017-2018, before the worldwide pandemic, so I really think that it's amazing how the author managed to depict it so well.
The characters were pretty interesting too. There's no true antagonist here. Just ugly human nature. But it's not all bad and I enjoyed the light comedic moments. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a human drama that's not too long.
On another note, the title is a reference to the main character from the book, The Plague by Albert Camus and the novel is mentioned several times in the story itself and now, I feel like I gotta check the book out too.
