I felt that the relationship between Tanimoto and Takatoshi wasn't sussed.
There they were the greatest friends in childhood, then suddenly they didn't see each other for X years, and then BAM they meet up, and as if on a roller-coaster they start this 'love' relationship.
So far, I can accept this set up thinking something would become 'interesting'.
Here is where I find the story seriously deviates. On the one hand, I feel Takatoshi's love, here he has been endlessly following his older friend gone lover, but on the other, I feel this emptiness from Tanimoto. He is so detached emotionally, that he just goes with the flow, which leaves a dim light in my heart. Perhaps its the translation, perhaps its not. But I just don't feel that the two have a 'healthy' relationship. Its just Takatoshi gun-ho about his childhood buddy, and the buddy taking a position of convenience - Spoilers
[spoiler] What really grinded my teeth was how Tanimoto dealt with his ex-boyfriend, and then when he started to think about Takatoshi, he suddenly thought "Oh what if he gets tired of me, what if he gets a better boyfriend cause I'm anxious yadda yadda". I feel that type of attitude is bad, he'd throwing all the blame and responsibility on the other, whilst making misunderstandings and confusion himself. Instead of reassuring his partner, he gets all whimpry thinking the OTHER guy doesn't love him. And the way things were handled was even worse. Tanimoto said "I think...I love you" with teary eyes after saying some really demeaning things (You could find a better boyfriend), Takatoshi just grins and goes happy. Well, overall I guess Takatoshi got sex, and sex is a lot. The end from me. [/spoilers]
The story tries to make deep characters, but they kinda contradict it so far. Tanimoto is confused and this much is the only clear thing I've noted in the 3 chapters. Maybe with more chapters, I'll be enlightened and will be proven wrong. By then I'll change this comment to comply.
