Everyone to their own

I found this manga to be a very fun read. For once, we have a badass protagonist that, while a bit edgy, actually gets some real revenge. It's a breath of fresh air. I only wish he was even more crazy and driven. I feel like his motto of not killing those who've not offended him or whatever to be unnecessary since he's so unhinged already, not that it seems to stop him from killing random people whenever necessary. I guess I wouldn't want a protagonist that just actively goes around killing everyone for no reason. It feels like he mellows out a bit after a while, but I guess that's not too unexpected with how the setup leaves little to take revenge on in the end and the revenge targets drop pretty fast. Not the best foresight from the author but I didn't expect that much since the story isn't particularly well thought out, clever or well written, it's mainly just a clump of fetishes, edginess and wish fulfillment that just happens to be good enough on its own with how starved a lot of people get for that after reading other trope novels/manga.

This is a great example of a very polarizing manga. On one hand we have the snowflakes that just can't quit raging about something that go against their moral values and fetishes actually existing and then we have the people who mostly consists of those that have read and seen so much shounen bullsh*t and other tropes where everyone's a saint, doormat and incredibly unrealistic that they revel in this kind of story.

This manga is aimed at those who find the power of friendship offensive, who hates when protagonists bring their modern day values into a foreign primitive world to "educate the inferior apes", those who prefer their protagonists to kill someone instead of leaving seeds of trouble, who has no qualms about adapting to a new world, where it's not a matter of forgiving those who have wronged you but letting them face the consequences of their actions instead, where people act like trash and deserves to be trashed for that cheap satisfaction of us readers finally seeing the trash taken out. Where the protagonist actually acts human to some extent instead of being mr goody two shoes.

Basically, it takes the idea of a doormat protagonist, chucks it out the window and instead embraces sadism and vengeance. Where your teammates are eternally loyal in one way or another and they don't get to tell the protagonist what to do.

Honestly, I think a lot of people who really enjoy this are those who are simply tired of the generic tropes. At some point, people end up so pent up from frustrations of protagonists acting like imbeciles or gullible children that it backlashes to the point of an edgy manga like this becomes an awesome read, even if people realize that it's not a particularly good one story wise, but it clicks so many of the right buttons and fills a void from other stories.

It's not necessarily about people enjoying rape (and let's be honest, seriously, whom among us has never read some of the countless hentai manga of the forced variety, don't kid yourself, it's just human nature), it's about the idea behind it all. The rape is just a small part of the big picture that's painted, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it wouldn't exist in any world, especially a primitive one and EVEN MORE SO when people can get overpowered with no real laws binding them. To turn a blind eye to reality is just pitiful. In a world like that, taking in a slave might as well be saving them if you treat them decently. Let's not even begin the argument if him taking some girls as followers instead of killing them by use of some measure of mind control is better or worse. It has no clear answer and I personally believe killing would be worse.

Oh, and even if people do enjoy those aspects, get off their backs, people are free to have whatever fetish they want. Humans with no unsavory hidden fetishes or fantasies are few and far between. They're just that, fantasies. Unlike your typical beast, humans at least know that it's just a fantasy, just like how we like killing people in a video game but don't go out on a shooting spree. It's healthier to fulfill than ignore fetishes as long as we keep it imaginary.

My point is... Get out of here and stop leaving bad reviews if the reason you're doing so is because you didn't like the basic concept of the story. A few chapters in, it would be clear that it was a miss. People here are pretty much the same as an adult reading a shounen manga leaving a rating that it's not adult enough, people reading a shoujo manga and complaining it's not masculine enough, reading a horror manga and leaving a 1/10 for not being slice of life and heart warming enough or why not a comedy gag manga and complaining it's not serious enough. Hell, it's like reading a drama tragedy and complaining it's not jovial and light enough.

What are you even doing here? Go find something else instead of cracking down on a manga as if it owes you to be as you expect it. I do realize a lot of mangakas have painted an unrealistic expectation of this genre of revenge and so on, by being all like "oh, he was betrayed and want reveeenge" and then he ends up being a god damn saint doormat that drops the revenge as fast as his dignity. But if you read the tags "rape, abuse, abused male lead, rape victim/s, antihero, borderline H, sexual abuse, slaves, torture".... What do you expect? No, really, what the actual screaming F do you expect? Why even bother reading if these tags offend you so much?

Rising of the Rapist Hero

This is one of those mangas where the author hides their rape fantasy fetish in a form of a “story”.

The few people who actually like this sort of thing are those who need to touch grass and see therapy regarding their hidden rape fetish.

This is just hentai with extra steps (a semblance of "plot" and "action")

It feels like reading a hentai with all the censors turned off lmao.

Narrative-wise, it's so over-the-top and fast-paced. If your attitude towards the first 10 chapters of evaluation is "hmm author, what's up next?", by letting your curiosity get ahead of anything else, you might get amused. As in "OHH THE AUTHOR HAS DUNNIT!" 6.9/10

Plot-wise, it ain't that special. But it spells a funny combination: A revenge story with collect-them-all brainwashed harem à la Pokémon.

It's not perfect but it's definitely not bad enough to deserve a rating of 1.

I'll be the first to admit that this isn't the greatest story I've ever read and it doesn't have the greatest art I've seen but giving it a raring of 1 is being spiteful because you don't agree with the subject matter or you're a perfectionist. It's floating between a 5 and a 7 in my opinion, a 7.5 at max. For me it lost points automatically because it was censored for some reason, I find it hard to believe that is the way it was released which means that someone literally took their time to white out all the nipples. I fully understand censoring the actual intercourse but there is no reason to censor nipples or a little pit of public hair. This isn't a title ment for younger people in the first place so it just diminished the enjoyability for people that don't wince at the slightest bit of nudity. If you're going to censor nipples then in my opinion blood and violence should just be censored too. The story is alright but has a few inconsistencies and isn't perfect by any means but it definitely doesn't ruin anything. The art is better but as I already made it clear, should have been done differently. All the ratings of 1 are just ridiculous and in my opinion, giving a rating of 1 to something that didn't deserve it because you don't agree with something just makes things confusing. Plus when I see reviews like that, it just makes me think they can be unbiased then I tend to not trust other reviews done by that person. Reviews are ment to be unbiased and help other viewers or readers make an informed decision on what to read or watch next, leave personal opinions for after the review. If you can leave an unbiased review then leave a contrasting or agreeing viewpoint the end, it really helps whoever is reading the review. When I leave a review, I put a short opening and after that I go through all the review categories then I leave the final section for my Afterthoughts or Final Thoughts. It helps to be thorough while being clear and concise to help anyone that reads the review.

This was different from almost all of my other reviews but sometimes it just bothers me when people leave ratings of 1 on something that clearly doesn't deserve a rating that low. Ratings that low should be for titles that are universally hated and usually involves some kind of disgusting act or subject. I don't think I need to leave an example because I'm pretty sure we all know what I'm talking about. Let's just say that they usually include underage persons. Anyway it's getting long so I'll end it her plus I really don't want to go down the rabbit hole right now.

Maybe because I didn't get the revenge I wanted to see in Rising of the Shield Hero and read this right after it. I don't get why the heck are people so biased towards it. You don't like it, just drop it and search for something else. What frustrates me is that the people shit-talking this know what they are getting into and after reading it they start saying there is rape and stuff so we'll give it 1/10. These kind of people are the ones that anger me to no end and prevent people from reading the manga and ln.

there is no plot or anything

After only one chapter of explanation for no reason at all the MC lets himself get drudged (for months) without a valid reason.

It's just a mix revenge/ isekai / second chance mangas or but with the MC creating a harem and raping everyone. It's just a sorry excuse for the editors with rape fetish creating lookalikes of those other mangas and get them raped or tortured.

The plot doesn't even make sense since many of the revenge isekai tropes, are based on the fact that the hero is from another world and has no known ties with it when they get a second chance. It's obvious that if the hero was a native he would have to make other approaches.

The worst part is that most of the plot's purpose is the fulfil random fetiches.

So bad that it's good

Don't expect any character to be a good person here. Everyone is an asshole for some reason, including the main protagonist. If you don't like it, then just read something else, there's no reason to cry and write a 1/10 review like this manga owes you something.

This being said, what we have here is a fantasy story about a guy who was born a hero, but didn't have any combat abilities. In fact, he was a healer. This "heal" ability isn't, however, a usual one. It doesn't restore the damage, it reverses it.

For example, what a healing potion does is make human body naturally regenerate at extremely fast pace, but his ability makes the body reverse to the state it was before an injury happened. But when the MC uses the ability, he must experience this damage being taken. This means if he heals a broken arm, he must experience the arm breaking himself.

So in the end, his ability was only useful if he needs to restore the damage to body which cannot be healed naturally, like the loss of a limb.

But the problem was, that he also was a Hero, which means he had no level cap unlike everyone else. And only 10 heroes could exist in the world at once, making this ability extremely rare. So once this revealed itself he was instantly taken into the Royal family.

And here's where the plot starts and people start having problems with this story. The family found no uses for MC other than abusing his Hero ability, because he simply couldn't defend himself. And this involved
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
raping him and consuming his semen
. He was abused like that for quite a lot of time with making him addicted to some drug and losing his mind. But when he was taken to the battle with the demon lord, he avoided the drug and betrayed his abusers, consuming demon lord's energy and using it to "heal" the world back to the time period before his Hero ability got known so he could relive that time and avenge himself.

But unlike a classic MC in this scenario, he had no morals and because a worse person than his abusers were and ruined a lot of lives of sometimes innocent people.

Of course, this entire story is presented in the edgiest way possible, complete with evil monologues and raep faces. This is the type of manga it is.

What good I can say about it is that it really makes you hate everyone in it. And it's a good thing. I like this type of stories. It's fun to see everything going the wrong way and becoming trashier with every chapter. It's a fun experience that anyone with an open mind can enjoy.

The lowest points of this manga are the parts when, well, no "revenge" happens and it's just the MC and his slave harem (yes, he is a slave owner) living an everyday life. Simply because when you don't sympathize with anyone it's hard to have fun with them. But thankfully the manga isn't focused on this.

Do I recommend reading it? Only if you are a degenrate like me.

Bad power system and stupid world.

I normally don't like edginess, but this is edgy to the point of absurdity. The Anime Man led me to check this out, and it didn't disappoint.

That being said, even though I can forgive the morally abominable MC (at least it makes him... interesting?), I can't forgive the terrible power/magic system. It's nonsense. The world (including the rest of the characters) are boring. The only reason I forgive the MC is because he's a walking gimmick, a novelty that I'm sure I'd tire of if I read further.

There's some potential story in there like that I'd be interested in getting explored, like what would happen if Freya got her original personality back, but I don't trust this particular story to handle it in an interesting way.

You won't be bored, but you will definitely hate yourself after reading it

After watching The Anime Man's review on this manga, I immediately decided to read it. It's pretty bad, but in a fascinating way.

I don't usually read/watch isekai/fantasy/rpg media, so I have no idea how cliche this story actually is. The magic system is pretty bonkers and basically exists to ensure that the story continues forward.

Summary: MC is a healer hero, who can only heal people by reexpierencing and absorbing their pain. He gets picked up by some party members, who treat him like shit. This includes: 1) continuously raping him to increase their power levels? 2) forcing him to cast healing spells despite the excruciating pain 3) giving him an addictive drug in exchange for healing spells 4) treating him like a literal dog- leash + cage + dog commands 5) constantly treating him like garbage. (All in one chapter!)

Four years of this shit- he somehow becomes OP enough to go back in time to get revenge against his party and the entire kingdom for crimes against humanity (demi-humanity😕). His revenge includes more rape, brainwashing, slavery, poison, and so much more!

I'm not sure who would enjoy this. Fantasy nerds will probably be annoyed by the bizarre magic system. Perverts probably won't want to slog through story explanations between sex scenes. Morally decent people will find themselves appalled by how unlikable and bland every single character is. Really, only weirdos who are interested in how the hell they will adapt this into an anime will enjoy the read.

4/10- the continued decline into moral atrocity, as well as the increasingly nonsensial magic system, will keep the reader from being bored, but you are guaranteed to hate yourself after reading it.
