Description
Fujinami Kou is a high-school second-year who had lost his boyfriend, an upperclassman schoolmate, to a car accident an year previously. On the anniversary of Misumi senpai's death, Kou is dispirited and contemplating skipping school. Kakitsubata Saki, a first-year, sees him and offers help, assuming that he's ill. As Kou startles at the sight of Saki's face and mentions that he resembles "the person I used to go out with", the younger boy is instantly intrigued and resolves to discover his sorrowful, introverted upperclassman's secret.

The art is clean and nice to look at, the story isn't ridiculous and the characters are consistent. The story pretty much gave off the same ambiance the whole way through, it's a very calming read, no nasty side characters as well! It's simple and pleasant.
This is really such a gem! I love the slow pacing and how they come to a realization of their feelings, and how they are so new to love and everything. It definitely would've been nice if the author would've gone more in depth into the character development but it's a very sensitive portrayal nonetheless! I love how she brushes upon their interactions in public and notes about the choices they make on how much PDA they show and how others might see them. Also, love the talking statues ahha!
I've enjoyed many of Bikke's other works such as Shinkuu Yuusetsu and Ame Nochi Hare, but this manga borrowed many plot points from Hagio Moto's 1974 classic, Heart of Thomas. While Bikke's artwork is lovely as always, the depth of her plots and characterization do not hold up to Moto's. If you're looking for something with more psychological depth and pathos, put this manga down and seek out Moto's Heart of Thomas instead.
I feel like something is missing in this manga. I think the author works really poorly with emotions and their expression... and even more with characters of persons. Sometimes it feels like they have no character at all...With blink of an eye they just can go and talk about every problem and so... and it's the reason why everything can be solved so easy. Its the main reason why I have to lower rating. I liked the drawing and the plot was interesting...but the climax of problems...is like she didn't really know how to solve them.
