Description

The main seme in this (Adam) was not my type at all. Appearance-wise he's a pure noble and a great bodyguard/fighter. However, his main personality is very puppy-like and promiscuous. You could say the uke (Joel) is a tsundere, in the end you have to look back on all the times he blushed and take that seriously to feel satisfied with them getting together romantically.

The next pairing was between Louis and Gilles. Louis is a prince from another country, Gilles is his vassal/bodyguard. I kinda liked this one more than the main one. Louis only slept with women until Gilles and I liked seeing him fall to pleasure and the twist about Gilles.

The last one wasn't really romantic in my opinion, just potential, between the prince of one country (relation of Adam) and the 2nd prince of another (Louis' little brother). They were sweet and pure, and I found it interesting how it addressed Luke's dysphoria at having to keep his hair long, wearing feminine clothes and bring called cute, and how Chris apologized and reassured him he doesn't see him as a girl. Chris will make an amazing King, especially with the support system he has.

The story does have a fair amount of politics and I did reach my threshold at chapter 21, and there was a WTF moment in chapter 25, but I'm glad I pushed through, a lot suddenly happens and then we get a happy ending.

The antagonist...not much to say, he served his purpose and he wasn't completely cartoony, his final moment was actually a smidge sad.

If you like the sound of a slow-burn, bodyguard/master, willing to wait as long as it takes and very doting seme with a little pushiness here and there and some political intrigue with some interesting interactions between different groups of people, I recommend this.

CWs:

-Adam plans to rape Joel after he drugged a lady but Joel gets away. (Adam did not think of it as rape.)

-Adam casually jokes about having raped prisoners to 'calm them down'. (Adam did not think of this as rape, just fun, and 'some of them even liked it'.)

-Casual acephobia (the idea that all people are sexual and driven by those desires, so what's wrong with Joel that he seemingly isn't).

-Stereotypical trans-coded tailor but not joked about.

-Slavery (the seme of the 2nd couple was a slave and was bought, Adam sells himself for the case and there are slaves at the same party up for auction).

-Louis orders Gilles to have group sex knowing he can't say no, right after he was told that Gilles was raped by his last master's wife.)

-Childnapping/hostage-taking, blackmail.

-Some torture/imprisonment/injury.

The cast of characters have very different and intriguing personalities and beliefs, it was a very interesting read but there is an air of listlessness from the author. The story also tells more than it shows in later volumes so it all felt like the author just wanted to finish the story. The delivery of the ending was also a bit mild since it seemed like all tension was thrown out the window and I was dropped into a wholly different story. Even so, I did love every chapter leading up to it and I only wish there was more space for the characters to breathe because the author excels in character writing.

The story , characters, depth of story and characters, all metaphor out there , characters growing so believable and ... , author makes u believe how Adam changed from a indifferent free crazy playboy to a lovesick man who willing to sacrifice his life for the one he fell in love with, it just so natural and believable u can't help but get emotional when he was dying for what he love and I legit cried a little after he showed up with his short hair, it was so beautiful, it's felt like he born again and start a new life , It's just brilliant and a whole underrated masterpiece.

Reading it after reading dozens of manhwa and manhua I noticed again , Japanese are by far the best story tellers and writers, period.

Totally recommend.

Usually I'm a character gal, not really caring about plot that much as long as I love the characters. This manga has it all! The characters are all SO GREAT!! Even the side characters and villain types, they're so compelling! They even get in the way of their own plot because of their own flaws, which is just....brilliant!!

This was so brilliantly written. You can tell this mangaka made her own historical, political, royal drama maze story set up for her characters, but her characters are all dogs and cats and made their own way through the story lmao. It's so wonderful to see a story with such well written plot but still character driven.

The extra really drives home how the mangaka could have made a much more harrowing story...but the characters would not have allowed it xD Truly recommend this series! I'm so happy this got licensed, I will definitely be buying it!

Super impressed by the plotlines and the unique and thorough development of the main and supporting cast. If you want quick cliche smut, this is not it. (Lol nothing wrong with quick cliche smut though! I also enjoy those.) This is what you read when you want to see layers of story unravel every chapter, along with multidimensional characters. Love seeing some intriguing representation of such a solidly "lawful good" alignment main character! If this ever becomes licensed in English, I'm buying it. Can't wait to check out the author's other works.
