Many many things in this manga have gone terribly wrong. Let's simply start with the plot…
The problem: Which plot?? From the description I expected a story about overcoming a trauma; maybe the cause of the trauma would come up again and stir up things a bit (or a bit more, since the overall mood seems dark). I couldn't have been further away from the truth. The first five chapters were indeed as described. But after that, the story became miserable. This whole long manhwa is solely about rape. I feel like this story was over the course of a year or more and everyday the main character was raped. Seriously, I had to laugh when sometimes there was a trigger warning before a chapter that there would be rape. Damn, the author should've put it before literally EVERY chapter!
I think there was even consensual sex a few times. But I couldn't differentiate between consensual and rape because it was both the same: Not giving a shit about the feelings of the main character, the main character being hurt, crying and begging to stop.
The way the main character was raped again and again made me believe that he'd be happy to never have sex again. Instead it was more like "Oh, today is a day on which I'm not raped! But that's why now I feel pent up and want to have sex with the rapist."
I don't have a problem with the depiction of rape in mangas, but I do have a problem with the way it was shown here. It was neither glorified nor seen as the horrible thing it is. It was shown as a totally normal thing to do and that was what made me feel uncomfortable.
Also, I'd like to cry because I cannot understand how it is possible to put so little plot in so many chapters. The whole story would've fit in 5 chapters without leaving anything important out.
Let's talk about the characters next. Most of them didn't have a personality except being a psychopath. I didn't like even a single character in this story which is an amazing but sad achievement. The servants (later in the story) are such brainless and heartless bastards that it leaves me speechless. The only thing I thought about the main character was "poor thing". But yeah, he dig his own grave. His way of thinking is so twisted and awkward that not seldom I was left thinking that maybe he's actually a total masochist and this whole thing is just an act (which is a shocking way of thinking about rape). It took me until the end to grasp that what he said to Dong Hyuk in the beginning was what he really meant and not an excuse to protect him (I had a little bit of hope because of that sentence but in reality it was just naive me who read too much into his words). I expected some character growth or at least a mental breakdown — neither happened. Even Dong Hyuk, who makes a good impression, is a jerk deep inside. Still less a jerk than all the psychopaths though.
I don't want to say too much about the ending so as not to spoiler you. Just be aware that the ending is as shitty as the rest of the plot. Don't expect a wonder.
Last but not least, the art. I cannot say it's very great but I also cannot say it's bad. It's unique. Usually I can even read very old or bad art styles and forget about the style sooner or later. In this case I couldn't forget it because there were always things catching my eye. For example the glasses of a character being a 3D model. I'm totally fine with using 3D things to make drawing easier or even using them for backgrounds. But in this case the drawing style was so different that I noticed it again and again which was annoying at some point. Still, the art style being unique and good made me give this manhwa a 2/10 instead of 1/10.
My conclusion: Skip this one. Seriously, it will not do you any good. If you like dark storys and want to read a Webtoon with rape, then read The Warehouse instead.
And if you are even the SLIGHTEST bit wary of rape (even if only depicted in mangas): Definitely don't read this. Please, just don't.
