Description

A great series but not for me

I am not rating this series simply because I was not the target audience for it. I haven't read the novel but I happened upon the series on Tapas. I did like the premise enough in the start to unlock all the episodes, so I would say it is a definite captivating manhwa. Initially, the plot seemed to have been taking a route of badass ML and FL. It looked like ML was gonna be amazing with sword and FL was gonna be killing it with her magic. It started with an inside joke, that the FL never gets the last hit, and I thought it was funny. There were some aspects hard to understand but then a quick Google search lead me to understand many joke references were removed because of Copyright issues, which greatly takes away from the plot already. I was still ready to give it a shot, after all all my ink was already invested, but what the character dynamic turned into was a huge disappointment for me. Don't get me wrong, the romance is there and it is going places and they mesh together well. But what truly matters to me in an action manhwa is their dynamics when fighting monsters/demons/enemies together. This part was lacking. What I thought the series will deliver was a badass duo, but all it gives is the FL is badass but the ML is more badass, every second of every chapter. She is powerful with uncanny big breasts who will always to be the 2nd in every situation and he will be the superior. The more the manhwa goes on, the more they settle into this inferior 2nd and superior 1st roles. If they mixed it up and have her, the well deserved wins at times it would make it more fun. Their relationship is not equal, the power dynamics was solely written for the male gaze. I mean, she literally does a lot, she can do everything and be a badass, but in the end of every scene she is useless without ML. Even in arks that were supposed to be about her, it is about the ML. It gets frustrating very soon. So, just thought I would come and warn people who might regret using ink before realising what they are getting into. So please be aware of the following:

The official on Tapas has many references removed that take away from the comedy.
The trope is "FL is a badass powerful character but the ML is more badass powerful character.
She seems to have settled in with her being inferior and accepted the ML as superior.
Even though the FL is just as powerful no matter the situation the ML will aways be the most powerful in spotlight. They is no case where she actually gets what she deserves, not even once.
The FL is the best, if you want a powerful but always weak in front of the almighty flawless ML kinda thing.
ML is an egoistic Mary Sue, he can do no wrong. Gets boring real fast.

Anyway, the above mentioned things are not a deal breaker for many. If that is your case, then give it a try. I know many who love this manhwa!

Fun romance.

This is a neat isekai story with a romance focus. Its differentiating factor to other isekai stories is that ML and FL are both reincarnated and deal with everything together. The art is okay but uneven in backgrounds and fight scenes. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the romance.

Well the start and the story up to now is great. The two MC are transported into their favourite game that ends in tragedy and make a quite dynamic MCs for a fusion fantasy series.

Now since it's on haitus I must warn you about the novel ... The male MC is shown as more or less mature but he
slowly devolves to include some shoujo tropes like jealousy. I mean to me he suddenly started acting childish and the story got a bit corny on the second half it's a bit unbearable since most of the events start not being foreshadowed in order it include more teen romance scenes. The author ends up messing up the power-levels of the MCs. But the story goes back on track after the dragon ark.

I found this by accident and i have to admit that this series is amazing so far.

It has everything I like up until this point: Romance, great art style, setting in an online fantasy game, awesome comedy on pop culture, no love rivals (so far).

The jokes/references let me laugh out loud several times. The mix between serious fights, romantic hints and comedy is well balanced imo.

the story is also interesting and it’s hard to put this story aside.

it’s worth checking out.

I will rate this with 9 so far because it’s not finished yet. Final rating pending. 😀

So first of all, I adore the original novel, which is quite literally one of the best ones I've ever read. So yeah... this review is kinda biased! I just want more people to enjoy this story!

So far (30 chapters) I enjoy the webcomic adaptation. The art is well done, with the serious/normal parts being well drawn, and the humorous and comedic parts having a gentler, sometimes chibi style that works. Most importantly, the two main characters are drawn very well, and show off their hilarious geeky sides (as no-lifers 'rotten waters' with tons of cameos from pop culture) as well as their adorable/handsome sides.

So yes, I'm biased because I know more of the source material, but the main couple are ADORABLE. The tsundere girl with beastly combat instincts, who's an absolute monster when it comes to combat, Cordelia Chase. And then the coolly calculating with wayyyy too many less-than-legal abilities Jude Bayer. Oh, incase that name confuses people, I'm reading Reaper Scan's, and they put him has 'Yuder Baiel' which frankly annoys me. The world they've entered is a western fantasy, and all the names aren't traditional asian ones. Last names like 'Chase' and 'Hraesvalgr' and so on. So when the novel was original translated, the male MC was 'Jude Bayer', which I think fits much better than 'Yuder Baiel'.

Honestly, that name is the only thing that annoys me with the translations, but I can't tell if it's because I actually think it's a poor translation, or because I'm used to a different name already and can't separate my biases lol.

Anyway, translation aside, the characters are great, the two main characters especially, but also the side characters, who are truly awesome and/or hilarious. Cordelia Papa is hilarious, and I can't wait for her older sister to be introduced and her interactions with Jude's brother (many many chapters on, ngl). The plot is very epic, with the fact that the main characters have ridiculous knowledge being equaled out by the fact that they're rushing the plot and fighting against an upcoming apocalypse to make things balanced.

Also, for those who care, please note that there is no harem, and the romance is utterly fantastic. Please check this one out!
