The art in this is so good! I was really taken by the side-characters in this, it really made for a rounded cast. Humans, monsters, demons and from different walks of life! Almond the Crow was especially hilarious and cute.
The way flowers would bloom when Claude was flustered was so cute. <3 And his little blushes and smiles.
And how Bel was so happy to be called Claude's right hand hahah.
And Aileen winning Almond over with bows and cookies.
We don't see a whole lot about Aileen's previous life. We can assume she died of a terminal illness, and playing this otome game was one of the things that kept her going. And she had to make her own skin products. I wouldn't see it bothered me but I kinda did wish we saw more of her thoughts on that life versus this one etc.
I remember thinking 'it's like Aileen flipping to the protagonist made the other side automatically the villain' but at the same time Aileen noted how unsatisfied she was in the first place about the 2nd playthrough route where the heroine tames the villain and he gives up his life with the demons. And of course there's the fact that someone prideful and greedy ended up in the heroine's body. After losing, she's going to have to pretend to be a goody-two shoes her whole life or start showing her real colors, perhaps making Cedric her yes-man.
Speaking of Cedric, it made sense since the story wasn't about him, but I did feel a little sad that the little boy who loved his older brother's magic and was doted upon by him grew up to have an inferiority complex after Claude left and Cedric was compared to him. Aileen also had thoughts on this and felt bad for her part in it. But neither Claude nor Aileen said anything out loud to Cedric, they just let him continue feeling inferior and hurt. The problem I have with that is that he and the heroine will be in his life forever since he's still the second prince and it's going to get annoying if they don't clear the air a little. Also would've liked to see Cedric made to apologize for trying rape her...
I loved that Claude's mood affected the weather, I feel like their wedding night could be scary...
The extras were lovely as well!
I went to check out the novel page and it seems like multiple people complained about certain aspects that didn't bother me nearly as much. They feel so nitpicky but for me my enjoyment was high enough that I didn't get caught up in the details. I'll definitely check it out someday as well. Same with the anime.
