From Storm in Heaven:
A series of romantic short stories drawn by Sahara Mizu and inspired by the music of the Japanese band Sukima Switch. Each chapter is inspired by a different song.
6 Chapters (Complete)

Sahara Mizu writes great one-shots and this collection is no exception. Like the summary says, each chapter is based on a song, and this is done very well, without feeling forced. The stories are touching, sweet, and romantic without feeling cheesy or overly dramatic. I've only read up to chapter 5, with one chapter left to be translated, but I figured I should review. I also included a breakdown of the chapters I've read, for those who might find it useful.
1 - About a boy who plans to inherit his parents' dumpling shop and a classmate of his who really likes dumplings. Surprisingly cute.
2 - About a guy and his toaster, and what his toaster represents. A bit sad and nostalgic, but very touching.
3 - About two middle schoolers, the boy likes the girl, she does not initially reciprocate. Adorable!
4 - My favorite one-shot of the collection, it's about a couple in their 60s. The man is retiring from his job soon and worries that his wife might leave him. I think old couples are super adorable, so, yeah.
5 - The couple in this one-shot are a bit bizarre and they get into a fight, but they are reminded of what they've gone through in their relationship. Strangely cute, as if I haven't used this word enough.
Read it, it's great!
yeap, no kidding, ppl, it's really good, you really gotta read this, well if the cover art put you down on reading it, that's in my case, it really didn't made me wanna read it at once, but when i finally decided to read it, it was so unbelievably good, i wished there were more songs made into stories. For me, every one of it was magnificent! but the one i liked the most would be the third story, about the two middle school students, that was the best to me. The last part of the sixth story was really nice too, i loved how it ended.
First, I'm a fans of sukima switch, and I almost jump when i know that there's manga like this. sukima's song always gently touch my heart. simple, gentle, some powerfull: like you shout with all your might to tell someone your feeling in order to reach them. This manga is great, touching, and sweet 🙂 )
I like the story about guy and the toaster. Sometimes, there are things that we would keep because it have memories about someone that we dont want to forget.
I like how these stories are snapshots of different people in different stages of life. It was happy but also gave me a bit of a melancholic feeling. I listened to the songs as I read each chapter and it made the experience more interesting. I’ve never read stories inspired by songs like this. It really made me nostalgic about my own loves and think about how each person has their own interesting stories.
I like Sahara Mizu cause she has a way of writing that touches your heart and relaxes you. (well thats what I felt ^-^)
This manga is really refreshing, I especially like the 4th Song:1+1..,It reminds me of my grandparents in some way ^w^
I've always like the work of this author. She have always writes heart-beating, touching one-shots that are different from others. I like the 4th story of the old couple. It's very fresh and interesting to me! It's indeed a wonderful collection of one-shot. (:
