TBH i liked the potential little romance part in the beginning. it would have set this apart from every other generic crap thats out there. BUT since the MNC is DENSE AF it ended up crap like the rest. Maybe the next one i pick up will stand out from the est of those generic one tone martial artist manhwas.
This used to be one of my favorites. I loved how autistic-coded MC was. It culminated in his military arc but then things went downhill with the Actress's introduction. She is unnecessary.
Hell, ALL of the women in this, possibly barring the Assembly Granddaughter chick and Catsuit British Agent chick, is not just unnecessary but takes away from the action and story.
As more women are introduced and old ones reappear it just gets worse and worse. So much Other Women drama. Ugh.
I find myself enjoying this the most when outside of battle scenes, or those moments when the people he pays attention to calm him down. Also the moments when he’s laughed at for being so out of touch.
I haven’t dropped but the other reviews are fair and it makes sense that many might stop reading. I’d say this comic is mostly for turning your brain off, but with a little bit of more quality ideas here and there. Perhaps some differences with the publisher or other editorial unevenness?
The original concept was interesting, but it went down hill after his graduation trip to China.
It felt like author didn’t know what kind of story they wanted to write, so they just shoved it all in.
Is it Second Chance, Martial Arts, Slice of Life, Mystery? I donno.
Even the MCs character development didn’t last, you’ll think he had some emotional growth, but it doesn’t stick. In the end the MC just ends up boring.
Gave up after chapter 62
Doesn't really work. There isn't one or two things this story tries to do so it is all over the place being good at nothing.
However, overtime it just become bland and boring. I don't feel anything while reading it. I don't feel excited, and I don't get all riled up unlike other better manhwas.
When it comes to the fight scenes I just scroll all the way down to see how it ends. I can't take it.
Dropped at chapter 62,
It just goes all over the place. The other reviewers are mostly correct. Its like the MC is bipolar and indecisive in all the worst ways possible.
At one moment you'd think you have a grip on his character but then he'd prove you wrong by doing the exact opposite.
This is the guy, who for the sake of equal opportunity chose to leak the martial arts manuals to the mortals and gets hunted down for it by the ones in power, (happens in chapter 0 / the prologue).
So you'd assume he has some kind of good alignment.
Then the next moment hes some hardened criminal who'd only help someone if he has something to get in return.
But then he breaks that philosophy of his cause he 'had a random flashback'
The story doesn't know in what direction it even wants to go, at the start you think its going to be action then theres a random slice of life segment... but oh wait random time skip of 1 whole year of him just studying (this author loves his time skips of monotony), and with all that studying he gets into a good college, but oh wait now he goes into the military service for no particular reason.
I could go on and on but really, it boils down to this.
The MC has no charisma (as a character), and the other characters as well but the MC in specific. He's worse than a blank piece of slate that the readers can project themselves onto like is the case in some novels.
He actively makes the weirdest and the worst decisions, letting people he know getting murdered but it doesn't faze him in the slightest, but he himself refuses to kill, for some arbitrary reason of wanting a 'normal life' even when thats a meaningless idea.
Oh and every few chapters of this slice of life wannabe, you get 'character development' short stories, like when he goes to the hospital, or when hes in the army, etc etc.
But don't let it fool you. By the next chapter he's forgotten what he's learnt about being human. There is no character development. He literally, does not change. the same situation happens the next time and instead of throwing a flashback about what happened last time he did it and what lesson he learnt, and this time he makes another decision, no. He makes the same stupid decision again.
Its like watching a guy running into a glass wall expecting there to be a door there. but instead of checking where the door is, he runs into that same spot on the wall again, and again, and again.
Its a very frustrating read. I absolutely do not recommend anyone read it. It's not even at the level of 'so bad its good/ entertaining to read', no, this is just bad.
If there's anything to complain about, it's how unpredictable the MC is. One second he seems like a decent guy, the next he's an evil bastard that won't do a thing unless something is in it for him. Chick sobbing at his feet for help and he doesn't give a flying fuck, and supposedly only helps after having some vague flashback. Even then, he doesn't even care about helping her and actually goes out of his way to find a reason not to after he already agreed to help her. Doesn't make for a good MC in a manhwa that has no character development like the rest of them.
Either make a scumbag MC or don't. Author made this MC bipolar as fuck and it's annoying.
Also, don't mistake this one for a cultivation manhwa. Not much of that going on at all.The story crawls along at a snail's pace (Aimless and short chapters, tons of huge closeups, wasted space, meaningless panels, random long flashbacks completely out of nowhere), accomplishing close to nothing at all in each chapter. I'd give this one a higher rating if it wasn't such blatant milking and quit with all the filler slice-of-life chapters that do nothing to push the plot forward. Not even sure what the plot is anymore. I have a suspicion that the author doesn't either.

At some point the author forces the action out, making the plot and the MC focus more into a slice of life theme .
After his trip to china they just force a love interest onto the MC ,and force on us the viewers a lifestyle in which only money and outward appearance matter.
I mean when the scene is set, they make us see that the MC died because he did everything to try and bring a better life to everyone by giving them the strength to break free from their chains. But he didn't delegate or trust anyone .
when the orphanage director died he more or less understood this previous mistakes and solved his trust issues (in a bit of a corny way). (I mean his original life ended miserably because of the economic disparity there is in Korea)
This random materialistic approach the author does completely ruined it for me .It's mostly "You have x and y problem that just because you're too poor/unpopular" ,which apparently means that if you are an egotistical bastard with equally egotistical friends everything should solve itself and money will start raining. It's completely oposite to the MC's approach after the first ark.
He has had two lifetimes to know this approach is too self centred. It ends up having the majority being stomped on (just like in his first life) ,they even introduced the FMC stomping and bitching about other actrices
And lets just not mention how he initially ignored his first love interest .I didn't really like her character but in comparison, she was a saint (It's also blatantly obvious she'll come back rich or famous (maby the oposite but it's clear that all the MC's friends will end up like that) to create some love triangle.
Personally I give it a high rating cause I love an mc with the personality traits close to those of Second Life Ranker or Solo Leveling where there aren't any moments where you feel like his reactions to things or how he handles situations are frustrating and make sense although bland and quite generic the entire reincarnation to the modern world sub-genre is overused and boring at this point but here at least that gives it sort of a twist where he can't just stomp on every single person. Yes most of the core traits of an "mc who reincarnated and just stomps everyone" is there but at least there is a slight twist to it which makes it more appealing to read. In comparison to all the random isekai stories out there with either an absurd twist or just straight up boring settings, I find the story here to be pretty decent.
