Kinda Cool

To avoid confusion, please note that all four stories use the same cast— kinda like how American Horror Story uses the same cast every season, but with different stories.

‘Revenge” was really good. “Hospital” was fairly confusing but interesting. “Pure Love” was kinda cool. “Expectations” could have been really cool if it had gone on longer/ had more to it.

i've been always thinking this manga is weird or strange or peculiar. even though it's shonen-ai, no love is involved.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
and then i look the mangaka's other works. crap. so it's you who made that super weird manga with hints of surrealism?! geez...

Felt Like an Otome

Every chapter has the same set of characters in varying circumstances, so it's best if you go in expecting different "routes" for the cast (and if you ask me they're all bad ends). I thought the first one was the best and most interesting, the weirdness only escalates as the manga continues.

When I had first read the first story years ago, I remember being impressed how dark it felt despite being predictable. Sadly, the other stories...well, I read them yesterday and now I already forgot what exactly they were about.

...you probably shouldn't read this. For one, only the first and fourth stories have any shounen-ai at all; for another, there's no actual romance or HEA's involved. If Souichi had been a woman, Jikan Akima Jinbutsu would have been much more suited to the seinen fanbase than the BL one: so if you're looking for insane shenanigans and unusual story concepts, this collection's a good choice.

The first story was a bit weak, but the premise was intriguing -- the execution's what diminished its value. The fourth was my least favourite, because it was nowhere near long enough to have the build-up necessary for that kind of conclusion. The second and third stories, on the other hand, were very good; it's worth reading the lot just for those two.

There's an odd feature here which it's best to be aware of before reading: every oneshot stars the same cast of characters in terms of names, looks, and basic personalities, but from one story to another they have very different histories and circumstances. Since I'm a fan of AU scenarios it didn't bother me, but some might find it confusing or annoying.

All in all, an enjoyable read with some original ideas and interesting, twisted characters.

The first chapter caught me offguard. Throughout the whole thing, I was trying to think of what could be his revenge plan. I thought he was just going crazy and needed someone inside of his house.

The second chapter. I really don't understand it. Read it twice, and neither time I could understand it. Could someone explain?

(I'll update when the last is scanned) Oh man The first chapter...I just loved this. it was so twisted and great and the ending was not what I suspected but was so perfect! biggrin

Chapter three~ Yet another ending that I really loved and the last lines just worked so perfectly for what happened in the story.

Even tho I love a sweet story or any kind of love story that have a happy ending, this tragic and horror ending still impresses me

And tho I can pretty much predict from the start what Takechi planned for his revenge, the ending still surprises me.
I agree that such revenge plan would never exist in real life, but whatever! it's manga anyway lol
I like it a lot bcoz the revenge plan use many methods of psychology, a very smart plot from the mangaka : ]

But then again, I hope for more of a happy ending. It's so sad for both of them and I wish that in the end, Takeshi does like Koichi even a lil bitT.T

I'd not recommend you if u r for a sweet story and can't accept drama and horror plot. I do agree with "lialah" that the reader will be either like it or hate it all.

And the same goes for me, I ended up liking it! : ]

kinda twisted, but I liked it. Didnt expect the ending of the first chapter, and I was kind of sad for both characters. I found myself not being able to really hate either character by this point, despite how warped both of them seemed to be (which I guess was the mangakas intention).

If you like yaoi which is unexpected and twisted, definately read it. Although this strikes me as something the reader either likes or hates, and I ended up liking it.

Even if yaoi is escapism, this kind of plot makes no sense. I can barely see the murderer and the uke as the same person, not to mention the seme with his unbelievable plan.
