Yep. Having read up to chapter 16 of the translated releases and, although the romance was (mostly) quite nice, I had had enough of the vague hints of sinister things going on, and decided to look at the raws. And the shit really hits the fan. Hard. Everything turns to shit. Bear in mind that I can't read chinese so I'm not 100% on exactly what happened, but it doesn't seem salvageable.

EDIT: Translated ch18 actually made me cautiously optimistic, but the spoilerless warning below still applies.

If you don't want to read the spoilers below I'll just say that it involves illicit human experiments, conspiracies, rape, and gore; so I'd suggest you steer clear of this manhua if you aren't into any of that.

Some spoilers from chapters 16 through 27:

MC finds dreamwoman looking at some sort of file on the MC on the computer one night and confronts her, dreamwoman infodumps, and it turns out the MC is unknowingly part of some kind of illicit human experiment conducted by the dreamwoman and the company she works for. There's a device of some sort implanted in the neck of the MC. (It's purpose isn't 100% clear to me, since I can't read Chinese, but it seems to make her more aggressive or something? IDK)

EDIT: The latest translated chapter (18) includes the confrontation scene. The major points are: Dreamwoman asks if the MC has had any moments where she doesn't feel like herself, which she has. Dreamwoman also talks about the human experiment that the MC was part of, it was research into accessing a persons subconscious, so all of the dreams the MC had of dreamwoman were pretty much real, although they took place in the MCs subconscious. Although it isn't explicitly mentioned it's implied by the MCs reaction that she had not given her consent for the experiment. Dreamwoman went to find the MC since the research ended a year ago, and has been unable to share those dreams with the MC anylonger. [END EDIT]

So the MC later removes the device from her neck and goes back to dreamwomans apartment to confront her again, and the MC ends up tying her up and rapes her before leaving. (Although tbh the MC didn't seem entirely happy about this afterwards.)

On the way home MC stops at a bar, where she meets dreamwoman's teacher who gives the MC a file, that presumably is on another test subject. The MC then visits this person at a public hospital and he looks like a complete wreck.

Dreamwoman's childhood friend, who's also the company president, visits her apartment and finds out that she's been raped by the MC, so she has her bodyguards ambush the MC and beat the shit out of her.

There's some more stuff in there, like the MC showing the (previously) implanted device to someone who I pres ue is the police chief, but it doesn't seem all that important: everything is still awful.

EDIT: It seems there might be a reconciliation between the MC and dreamwoman eventually, so the future isn't looking quite so dour.

I had high hopes initially, but it ended up being very disappointing.
